I'm a trucker. I used to drive with my dog. Every trip for years. Well, making a run from Texas to Colorado, she died. She was old. This song happened to be playing while I pulled over after realizing it. I buried her out there after the pass. She loved the road, & I loved her.

I was eighteen, and in the Navy in 1969. That's when I saw this movie. I have great memories of being a young man, away from home for the first time. I was on board the USS Tripoli LPH-10. Headed for Vietnam, the Philippines, and Okinawa.And many places on the other side of the world.

Joe Buck was talking abut future plans to Ratzo and then realized he was deceased. There are minutes more of the movie involving the bus driver, and then the look of emptiness and shock on Joe's face is heartbreaking. Jon Voight won the New York Film Critics Best Actor award, and his performance is extraordinary. John Barry's music for the film is exceptional. Midnight Cowboy is a time-capsule of 1969 and one of the finest movies ever made.

Melancolía, nostalgia, como la que trae el final del verano estando frente al mar en una playa casi vacía, ésta película la vi en Buenos Aires en su estreno 1970 yo tenía 20 años y media casi 1,90 de estatura y salí del cine llorando como si fuera un chico, Perdidos en la noche, como se llamo en Argentina la peli de ésta canción
