Their performances are both emmy-worthy and The Emmys need to pay attention to Mike Flanagan's shows because they're some of the best limited series to come out in recent years but because they're categorized as "horror", they don't get taken seriously even though I see them as dramas with horror elements.

Great interview. With these two excellent performers, it's interesting that you can argue, that Father Paul - perhaps- misinterprets *something* that happens to him on his journey and Bev - perhaps misguided - misinterprets Pauls intentions with what he's trying to achieve on the island. I grew up heavily Catholic but haven't been to church since I was 15 and the church scenes were so spot on it gave me shivers. My husband asked if anything was inaccurate I said no "except that he's wearing the fancy outfit and she literally just said it's ordinary time" and then that was a plot point?? Loved this series.

Man, I didn't expect Hamish to be so funny! Dude is MAGNETIC, and he just seems like such a goofball at heart. Which probably makes it so much easier to work with him on something so dark and disturbing. Like, if he was a big stone wall, it'd probably have gotten tough at times to work with him. But Hamish seems so silly that it probably made every day so fun. And Sam seems like such a sweetheart which is amazing considering her character is so effing evil. Like, Bev encouraged everyone to turn, and then bitch thought she was getting away. I cheered out loud when Erin didn't let her finish and just busted a cap in her. Which tells you she did a phenomenal job
