The song is about Wttenoon the asbestos mining town in Western Australia that is now a toxic site. The "sugar" reference is to the mining company CSR that started as the Colonial Sugar Refining Co. - they split the company up when the law suits for asbestosis started so the whole company didn't collapse. There is now the sugar, baking goods part and the mining part. The Blue Sky is is for blue asbestos that was mined there at Wttenoon. Good song to react to Mike. ♥

Great video! There's a video titled "Australia's Secret Chernobyl" which explains everything pretty well, and the film clip for this song actually mentions the company "CSR" who were responsible, both videos I highly recommend checking out in your own time. "Forgotten Years" is another Midnight oil song that's sad but joyful, and about war which is really well done, and "Pictures" is another good one by them that's related to the earth, which might be worth saving for next year's earth day hehe.

An amazing group. I love a lot of their songs. This is one of the 2 songs that played on the radio that my oldest daughter refused to go to sleep as a baby unless it was being played.
