Dude, I'm reading it and it is magical. The stories are woven so well but there is a British sensibility to it that I think non-traveled people will never understand.

I watched the whole thing waiting for a discussion of Midnight's Children, but it never happened!! Rushdie is amusing and insightful and I especially enjoyed his comments on the universality of free speech as a value, but I was hoping to gain some specific insight into Midnight's Children.

Incredibly people have forgotten his work which has a doubtful merit. His opinions are sought on politics of the day only and he says things which pleases his audience and it makes him a more desirable speaker the next time.

I too came to hear a discussion of Midnight’s Children. I was amazingly let down by the extreme verbosity of the interviewer and the lack of Midnight’s Children discussion!

Free speech is my shining star. It's always bright, Mr. Rushville, even when I've nothing to say.

The Nobel Committee of Sweden must award Salman Rushdie with the Nobel Prize for Literature or Peace or both soonest possible otherwise they shall regret the failure like many other brilliant authors like Leo Tolstoy James Joyce Nabokov Robert Frost W H Auden Philip Roth ..........

You mean the interviewer right?

Salman Rushdie is really charming and witty. The interviewer, however, is quite disagreeable. Even his breathing and his annoying "right"-sound are offensive I think.

Unlike the champagne, this Bollinger chap is decidedly flat.

This is like Peter Ebdon interviewing Ronnie O Sullivan. 😁

The interviewer seems to be on heavy cold medication... dim, predictable questions delivered in a painfully slow manner... Couldn't they find someone a little snappier?

The interviewer annoyed me so much... with the attention span of a toddler

If this guy spoke faster I could bear to listen to this interview. Wow. Slowest speaker ever.
