You can still be a Christian and think of these movies as hilariously bad propaganda pieces meant not for those who are Christians, but insecure Christians. Hence why they're so wildly out of touch with modern times, resulting in atrocious racial stereotypes, outdated dialogue, and blatant, constant, faith-based fan service. If you have to see a film with the sole intention to strengthen your faith, then your faith must not be that strong. I just don't get why these movies are even made, other than the same reason fat people go to McDonald's.

As someone who also doesn't hold a belief, I echo what Brad and Dave said. People can use religion as a means of adding a positive perspective to their personal life and If you hold a religious belief, as long as you don't judge others for holding a different belief other than your own, then I respect your decision.

These movies are why Christians are so often caricatured, stereotyped, and attacked by the media to the point of unfairness and bigotry; it's that the people who claim to speak for Christ was smug, insufferable, condescending, unsubtle, haughty and pushy.

+Tareltonlives The thing about stereotypes is, they need some kind of basis in *something* or they never would have occurred to anybody. Like, what is it with Jamaicans and alien abduction? (That's a thing people say, right?)

@austinboucher5286
@austinboucher5286 8 жыл бұрын
+wolverineminer I understand that. It's Just you know how a lot of online critics will review bad movies, but not all critics review the same types of films? Like how the cinema snob consents to review porn titles, but I don't know any others who consent to do that. Basically not all critics will consent to give their opinion on a certain thing simply based on the fact that there is no possible way they could have a positive opinion on it. I've never seen an atheist give a positive review of a Christain movie, and I've never seen a Christain give a positive review on a movie with primarily atheistic ideals. I'm saying critics should have an objectivist point of view, at least judge the film based on how it presents the message or on the production aspects, because your opinion as far at theism is concerned will just bias the review.
@austinboucher5286
@austinboucher5286 8 жыл бұрын

+Stoned Gremlin Productions I'm not saying you have to like any film. All movies are subjective. I may be a Christian, but I can acknowledge a bad movie when I see one and this film is bad. I don't think it's as bad as "God's Not Dead" or "Left Behind", but it's still bad. When it comes to religious films, there are a few good and great ones out there. "The Prince of Egypt", "The Ten Commandments". "Ben Hur". All great films. These preachy, over the top films do nothing for their audience, religious or otherwise. It just seems like you're harsher on religious films than others. Thus making it seem like you don't like us that do, even if we're huge fans of your shows.

Ok, so if I had seen this movie a year ago…I just may have agreed with you guys…I will agree with you on the similarity to Crash…although I think you are forgetting about the ending of Crash (statue of St. Christopher) …that movie was also about God, by the way….If you DO actually BELIEVE ….and can see how the media is destroying the world…you would welcome films likes this that the entire family can see…but I bet you don't believe in family either…right?…or maybe you would take your kids to slasher films?…If this was a movie that was promoting another segment of society would you be bashing them? This review is hate speak at it worst….you don't like Christians…I can only guess why….and this movie hit a chord with you, perhaps made you uncomfortable on some level…its convenient to hate Christians when you sin …maybe its something you should think about…I LOVED this movie….sorry your view is so bias…if your going to review movies you should be more open-minded…and try to swear less…..Im praying for you both.

If you actually paid attention to their other reviews, neither of these guys hate Christians, religion, or Christianity - they just hate bad movies. And this movie is bad, hands down - the script is heavy handed and preachy, made only to take advantage of Christians to put money in the producers pockets by shitting out cheap movies that just preach to the choir on the most surface level. All the characters are completely flat, the entire world is black and white, and is NOT AT ALL WHAT THE REAL WORLD IS LIKE. It's crap, and there's so many better religious films out there. These guys have also done favorable reviews of Christian films, like Little Boy, but I doubt you watched those or even this review past the first thirty seconds, IF THAT.

i'm just going to try and balance this out a bit by not capitalizing a damned thing. here's a sequence of proper nouns for good measure: chicago, watership down, napoleon bonaparte, nabisco.
