Although his rupture from Genesis was quite sad, it's hard not to see that value of Peter Gabriel as a solo artist. It was bittersweet for sure but you are correct that if it wasn't for that, who knows what we would have missed out on? Both Peter and Phil are immensely talented and have brought so much joy to people's lives through music. Genesis just closed out their last tour ever in London this last weekend. I am fortunate enough to say that I had the opportunity to see them play here in the States just a few months ago. Their music has touched me in ways I couldn't even begin to explain.

The feeling of the chorus conveys what heaven could feel like after many years of suffering. That's sometimes one of the only hopes that keeps me going, on the darkest days

Heaven is already here with us if we can find it in ourselves to see the presence. There is so much pain and suffering on the way there though and it is easy to be distracted and lose our way...

I remember their eyes, bottle feeding each them, they were at looking my soul and I at theirs. 40 years on, they are still in my eyes, my being, my eternity. My children are the best things I’ve ever done in this life. May they live long, happy and fulfilled.

Just came on the radio in the car and I had a moment of transcendence watching the morning sunrise.. perception is able to lift this up from the hellfires of Earth into the heavens in which we came from

14 years after dressing up as a literal flower on stage, PG really hit it out of the park with this one, the greatest love song of ALL TIME

Agreed, he experimented until he found his sound and presentation of expression altogether through his music, he has a great sense of humor about it and during speeches for awards he recieved would reference when he dressed up like a flower and a walking "sexually transmited disease" as opposed to tony banks of genesis wearing a different pastel of sweater occasionally lol
