I personally just wanna know where you guys have the following characters - Nico - Wanda - Wolverine. Lemme know! P.S - Also this list was made without taking into account the endless mods available for each card. Just the standard + Version that most players will get. I understand mods will change the character entirely.

Wolverine needs some help fore sure. Nico is just…not reliable. Wanda requires some wrinkly brain positioning tactics, but can dish out a lot of damage if used well. She has a lot of trouble with singular tough targets though obviously. Detonate, and quick toss are two of the best attacks in the game though. Quick toss is incredible tbh. And detonate can hit like half the map after unleashed (which can be modded with free) for a ton of damage. Hex charge is situational as well but can be absolutely devastating. Also after mods, she can become an absolute debuff goddess and apply marked and vulnerable to absolutely everything in sight. And quick toss can generate a ton of card draw.

Great list- I've really enjoyed your Midnight Suns videos. I've got about 75hrs in right now, and it seems like my take on these characters lines up with yours (based on your G/S/A/B ranking) with two exceptions! I think Captain Marvel is too high- much like Wolverine, she unfortunately just has other characters that do what she does better, and even in Binary mode, she requires so much of your resources that its difficult to use other characters. You just have to keep playing Cap Marvel cards, or cards that support her directly. She's godlike in the early game, but doesn't improve the way most others do. And I think Magik is too low- she deserves to be in the Cap America God Tier (Hunter is just a tier alone, really). She can do it all offensively- crowd control, environment control, AOE, and massive targeted damage. Best of all she often doesn't need to play a ton of cards each turn with portals and quick attacks. There is no better abuser of Henchman than Magik, and she might have the best Legendary card in the game. Thanks for the content!

Iron Man is unquestionably GOD tier. His Hellfire Beam has infinite damage potential and can ramp up very quickly. I've seen it go from around 350 damage to over 2,000 damage on Turn 1. And thanks to Precision, he can keep that and boost it even more on subsequent turns. He also has inherent Quick and Free card plays, along with good Card Draw. With the right deck, there's a fair chance you can have 10+ card plays per turn if you start with just one Quick Blast+ or Leave It To Me+ in your hand and clear the board each turn even on the highest difficulty setting, all by himself. I don't think there's any other hero in the game right now who can do that. A lot of people like his Air Superiority card, but I think that's his WORST Heroic card - stop using it as soon as possible. Surgical Strike with the Mark 1 mod will work far better, and Hellfire Beam is far superior to it even though it only works on a line. Captain America should be S tier. He's very good, but tanking drops off badly at higher difficulties and his best attack (Shield Charge) exhausts and has a damage ceiling equal to Cap's Health. He's got great card draw and has some excellent attacks, but he's not quite GOD level IMO. Magik deserves to be in GOD tier. In early turns, she can get the best use out of environmentals that stun or explode, and group enemies to set them up for other attacks. In later turns, the infinite damage potential of Limbo's Grasp means she turns into a major damage dealer. She also generates moves for your team, and those extra moves can be very handy in the later portions of the game. Her Banish and Darkchylde are two ways to actually have your tank survive on higher difficulties. She really needs innate card draw (that isn't a generated Limbo Portal) and her Relay should have a higher chance to trigger, but I think she brings enough to the table to justify GOD tier even without that. Blade is fine in A tier, but an argument can be made to bump him to S tier due to his Bleed mechanics. He's the only hero so far that uses it, and Bleed is very useful for enemies with Block (especially regenerating Block like Crossbones). It's also useful when there are Revenants on the field, because their Blood Hunger forces them to always targets the last unit to gain Bleed. Including units on their own side. So Blade can get them working FOR you instead of against you. Much though I like Ghost Rider, I think he's probably B tier just because so many of his attacks hurt himself, and that means he can be very hard to keep alive on higher difficulties. If he had taunt he could tank via the Straight To Hell card, but he doesn't have the innate card draw needed to get that reliably anyway. In fact, a couple of his cards discard cards from your hand, rather than give you more, which can sometimes wreck whatever plan you might have had for the turn. I really like Spidy, but for me he's B tier as well. He's great on turn 1 and maybe 2, but once you've destroyed the environment, he really struggles to do much because his regular attacks are fairly low damage. Unlike Magik, he can't just portal enemies to environmental objects so it's harder for him to do that in the first place, and can't power up his attacks the way she can either. I think Nico should be tied with Dr Strange, but the characters she works best with (Ghost Rider, Hulk, Wolverine and even Dr Strange) are either not top tier, or you just don't want to use two supports (her and Dr Strange) on the same team. Her Witchfire is one of the highest damage Attack cards in the game, and it can affect up to 4 targets under the right circumstances. ALL of her Skill cards are very useful, and while Swarm is bad (it does no more damage than Witchfire half the time, but costs heroism to play and only hits a single target despite the card name) her other two Heroic cards are very good.

Honestly, I think Magik might be GOD tier. With the right card upgrades, she can take out so many enemies in a single turn. With a good combination of Limbo's Grasp, Portals, and Quick Soulslash, there are times when she can play 6-8 cards per turn. The fact that portals are free and can build up so much Heroism each turn is insanely powerful. Edit: Also with Limbo's Grasp, she's the only character that can make shoving viable against strong opponents regardless of positioning.

The last dev diary by Firaxis before the game came out had Wanda, Hunter, and Magik do a late game U3 mission. Wanda certainly excels if you're able to get free moves from a character like Magik to position her aoes without sacrificing a shove or a cure. Also, you have Gather. You should watch the vid. Mostly agree with your points tho. Wolvie is my boy and I take him everywhere but I doubt he can handle upper Ultimate difficulties. He pairs well with my dps/support hybrid light Hunter and some high Heroism hero like Hulk or Iron Man.

I just fought my first battle with captain America, so I am not very far in the game, but i read all of the comments and it is disappointing to see that nobody wants to rank blade higher than A. I don’t have anything to input other than he is the reason I bought the game and 90% of my comic book collection is blade comics. Ill find a way to make him work, and I might come back here later when I’ve gone through the game so I can leave a more critical comment. Thanks for the video!

Blade and Ghost were both S for me, with magik and hunter being my G tier. Tried to use cap, thought he was okay. probably didn't have a good deck for him. Iron man was also way down in b tier for me, but I could see the potential

I wanted to love Nico. Used her a bit, and was super underwhelmed. Then I threw her in hero ops for a while, and showered her with new cards. And now she’s a super competent finisher. If a bit of a thinker. She pairs extremely well with an environmental hero like her friends Magik or Wanda, or Spidey. Someone who can put a little damage on a lot of mobs using AOE or environmental interactions so that Witchfire can get the job done. Or if you’re up against a heavy-duty, clear out the trash around them, then Witchstorm it.

Okay… lol looks like I’m gonna have to write another essay when I see another tier list but I’ll try to keep it short. No character in my opinion should be considered okay or whatever. They’re all good A or S tier when used properly and have the mods that amplify their gameplay. Mods, Combat Items, passives, and team synergy all have to be considered and you’ve made some statements I simply don’t agree with lol. Scarlett Witch Aoe strategy is extremely strong as is but modifications that allow extra moves, applying vulnerable and marked to hex bolt and hex field, and chaos field can negate a big attack on someone that would’ve died had they not had resist that turn etc. Detonate can combo with hex charge as well. She doesn’t always have to rely on an environment like a barrel or leyline to create an explosion. Wolverine isn’t a single target damage tank. His full combo mechanic is situational damage to apply status effect to an important target otherwise is better to hit multiple targets to have a chance to apply marked, weak, or vulnerable. The reason why wolverine is dying early when you use him is because you’re not apply weak to most of not all the enemies. On higher difficulties, Wolverine shines because he’s the only character in the game who isn’t penalized as much for a KO. He has his own self revive and all his cards have low heroism cost. Wolverine should be used as a supplemental damage dealer. Someone to aid the main damage dealer or soften up for the dps and support to do the rest. Block is something that only saves up from one attack or two on higher difficulties so it’s imperative that you use wolverine to apply weak through his attacks (through modified abilities) to allow for the natural damage mitigation to happen so he can life steal with beserk or heal from other abilities. Other heroes can give you block yes as well as combat items. Higher difficulties is meant to push the limits of your usage of heroes, mods, passives, and combat items. All need to be considered which wasn’t on this tier list. Captain Marvel can get binary off 3 card plays. It doesn’t really take that long. By turn 2, you can have binary. Combat items like Ironak Cloak and Utility belt are great for Captain Marvel because they provide you what you need for an early binary activation and sustain obviously. Nico is God tier. Her support cards are amazing first of all. Even if you don’t get the proper roll on blood magic or double up, playing those cards at the right time can still shift a fight. Modification of her abilities can be surprising like for example granting block on blood magic or granting strengthened when KOing with curse which can setup an bolstered swarm, witchfire, or crack the sky. Also, there’s plenty of skill cards that grant +4 heroism if you get the right mod. My berserk card has +4 heroism for wolverine and my one step ahead for captain marvel has a +4 mod. Captain America and Doctor Strange don’t seem to be as valuable once you start to understand that every character can generate block for themselves, heal themselves, and generate tons of heroism to support the other members of the team. It’s more of a matter of which characters allow me to perform the strategy I wish so that I can win this round. Midnight Suns is probably one of the most thought out games I’ve played in a long time. I genuinely don’t believe any character needs a buff rather some characters take a little more time to reach their full potential than others when you consider how a character can grow from their base deck to an optimized upgraded deck. Wolverine specifically was a character I initially thought was weak until I spent a lot of hours learning his card applications and what mods he can get. Scarlett is my favorite support in the game because of how easily she can apply vulnerable and marked. And if I had to say anything about there being a bad character in the game I’d say it’s Doctor Strange. I don’t think he’s bad either but I think as far as supports go Light Hunter is the best support in the game. Agamotto’s Gaze and Blessings of Vishanti, to me, don’t seem that worth it when I can simply generate more card plays through marked which I can get with evil eye totem or hex mark or some other cards that can generate extra turn potential without committing a card play.

Mod should be a buff and not a fix for characters. If a chatacter need mod badly then the game need to allow players to choose mod for a card, not rng like we have right now.

For me: G Tier: Hunter, Captain America, Iron Man S Tier: Doctor Strange, Nico, Hulk, Spiderman A Tier: Blade, Captain Marvel, Magik, Ghost Rider B Tier: Wolverine, Wanda Hunter is just G Tier because of his special passive effects and because he has the most cards. Captain Marvel is only A Tier because of Binary. Otherwise she would be B Tier. Sadly Wolverine and Wanda are clearly the weakest characters of the team. It's a bit sad because actually Wanda should been the most powerful. Captain America and Iron Man are those two which can put in every team, no matter the line up while Doctor Strange needs a Damage Dealer, Hulk a Supporter etc. Blade is fun to play, but his bleeding abilities are only good against those creature with bloodhunger. Bleed is actually not a good ability because your opponent still can attack you. Thats why Nico is clearly S Tier because she has extremely high damage output and causes status effects and also creates a lot of heoric points. Hulk is S Tier to me because he is a tank and a damage dealer. He just needs a healer in the team. His smash cards can stun two opponent's which can be very powerful in combination with abilites that can bring cards back (like Agamotto).

I've done mostly Heroic and Ultimate and the tier list shifts heavily based on difficulty since high Ultimate is more about negating attacks with resistance instead of actually using block. The hunter is hands down the strongest character in the game though. It's not even close.

The right hulk build can literally clear the entire map in like two turns. Get quick on his basic strike and when you couple it with challenging roar he becomes absolutely absurd- his rage meter gets filled up like round 1 or 2, then you use worldbreaker and clear the entire map

I gotta put Nico on S-Tier. At least for me on Heroic II. Her lows are not nearly low enough to be a problem, I have most of her cards upgraded and when she draws a low card it's still at least decent. When it her rolutte hits a high damage it's very high plaus if it's critical we are talking some off the charts moves. What I love about her best though is her restor ability. You can upgrade it where if someones health is under 50% and they get healed, she gets to keep the card. This is crazily overpowered. I can fully heal anyone every turn. Reliable healing, the ability to apply two resits on two people with blood magic, powerful dmaage. Not mention her(Witchcraft? Witchstrike? I forget the name) ability that does a lot of damage and cast again when it gets a kill, if the damage is high enough you can get 2-3 kills of decent health enemies easy. She is a damn beast for me, probably my overall best character outside of Hunter.

Hmm...I actually love Wanda whom basically softens up the mob for others to get easy KO's. And with some well placed "+1 move" mods, she is literally dancing all over the battlefield. Absolutely agree on the Wolverine evaluation though. Great vid!

I think Blade should be higher than A, he should be S. He is a damage dealer with some great buffs. He also has the ability to chain 2 or 3 enemies at once. I feel you have him a little low. Also interesting take on Doctor Strange, I need to spend some time with him.

I think wolverine shouldn’t just get downed he should get stuck at 1 health then regenerate back to 75% health and if he gets back down again he actually gets downed sense like he is supposed to be immortal and in midnight suns he can just die so easily while not doing the best damage

For me Captain Marvel is by far and away the worst, totally falls off in the Ultimate difficulties late game as she just can't keep up her Binary status - even with binary she is only just passable - without it; broadly useless. I'd actually put Wolverine higher. I agree that he is poor for his intended role as tank, however as dps he can completely clear the board. Midnight Special just gets absurd if you build your deck to it - having a native Strengthen card in the form of Lethal Pounce, along with card draw in Berserk (ideally modded for +4 heroism) to fish for the Lethal Pounce / Midnight Special combo easily makes him A tier for me. He does want a high heroism generating teammate to help get the 10 heroism for MS to really shine, so Doctor Strange + Wolvy combo is my go-to. I very rarely struggle if I have those two paired. I'd also probably promote Iron Man to S for his 2x Leave it to Me into Hellfire Beam with a bajillion redraws.

Captain Marvel sucks imo. Needs so much stuff to get her working optimally in any capacity. Everything she does, you can bring someone that does it better. Sad cause I thinks she’s kinda fun regardless.

Wanda definitely needs some buffs, she's supposed to be this intimidating presence. The most powerful witch (stronger than NICO) and a big threat throughout the game. Then you get her and MEH. I feel they heavily nerfed her prior to release, because if you watch some of the pre-release footage she was obliterating waves of enemies. They should buff her radius by 25-40% and damage by a flat 50%. She has the weakest white cards in the game, all her rare's and epics are extremely situational at best and flat out weak. Her abilities hit like wet noodles. Since her midnight suns ability literally kills her it should have a much larger radius and do 2x hero HP in damage not current hp... All her abilities require placement, move should be innate in her cards similar to Spiderman. The detonate heroic ability flat out DOES NOT WORK or is bugged. Half the time it won't allow you to target things that can detonate, othertimes it randomly works. When it does work, it barely noticeable difference in damage, 110 standard or 190 with detonate (a 3 heroic card). Underwhelming thy name is Scarlet Witch. Please buff her Faraxis.
