If using the fabric markers, use painter’s tape to section off the area. Save yourself an accidental marker slip and no sticky mess when you remove the tape.

There is a specialty hook made for repairing snags, very similar to the one you used but closes on the end for easier removal. Love the idea of using fusible webbing for repairing an opened seam.

Good tips Angela. I have used a similar method with the fusible when I have a hole I have inadvertently made in my quilt. I tuck a piece of fusible into the hole, and then a piece of the same fabric I was using into the hole along with some fray check and iron it down. I then FMQ and make sure I go over that area. Pretty much invisible.

Fantastic Video!!! More of these great ideas. If you had an easy way to rip out a horrendous mistake you made in your super dense quilting when leaving it is not an option....that would be awesome. I’m using an Ottlite with a magnifier but the fabric is a linen blend and super dense quilting. Fortunately I realized it before I did more than 5 inches.

Here's a tip for folks doing quilt-as-you-go- sash method from the QAYG Facebook group - if your sashes don't match up, add applique patches in shapes mimicking your quilt - like squares, hexies, yo-yos, etc and sew them on the intersections. I call them "emergency" applique, lol!

Could you tell us how to remove threads that are embedded in the weave of a piece of fabric that has come that way from the factory? I have some beautiful white tone on tone fabric that has quite a few "uglies" - yellow, green threads that don't belong. I have tried sharp pins and tweezers, but this tends to leave fuzz behind. Also, if you can actually get the thread out, it leaves open spaces in the weave.
@dianel6855 жыл бұрын
I need that crochet hook!!! What size is that Angela? Just finished a quilt with white back and the threads showing are driving me nuts!!! 😝
@NannaLiz5 жыл бұрын
I have a big roll of fusible web that I cut 1/4" strips from (yes, they are that narrow). If, after I have sewn a seam, the edges of the fabric don't line up exactly, I use a small section of the 1/4" strip to cover up the mismatch. This is done on the wrong side of the fabric, of course.
