Mark, I may need your contact info. I just bought my batteries and I'm waffling between Conext XW Pro 6848 (AltE is running a sale right now) with ?? CC or a MPP LV5048 all-in-one system. Using 275W panels (or other, I'm not wed to a panel as I have a used-reseller local.) I really want to keep using my Generac XC8000E as an input option. It seems Magnum requires a split phase input and my genie doesn't do split phase, but it does to 220V - hum. Really need some wisdom!!!

This is EXACTLY the video I was looking for - thank you for this! I have two questions: 1) where did you get that second square lug for the positive bus bar? 2) can you tell me what's going on with the bottom knockouts that have the cables coming from the PV array? Are those just MC4 connectors? How did you get them to stay right there? Or, what are you using to keep them there?

The mc4 connectors have locking nuts on the inside holding everything in place. The second lug I picked up at an electrical supply house. You should be able to get it on Amazon too.

4:05 SPD is between the Breaker and the SCC. This is confusing. I got people claiming SPD should be between Panel and Breaker. Though NEC dictates SPD should be on the LOAD side, which is what you did.

I was tired of the crappy inverters from Asia having been thru 3 units from two different manufacturers in the last 2 (two! not 12) months. I looked at Schneider and all I could see was a lot of owners/users really upset at how hard it was to get support/warranty from Schneider. I ponied up the cash and bought a SolArk instead. I don't expect to use the support line but when I do need it I expect that someone will pick up the phone and stand behind the product they sell.

I think equally important is the where you buy your components. I was fortunate to get excellent Customer Service from Northern Arizona Wind and Sun. When we had an issue, I got a hold of them and they facilitated the warranty exchange which took about 3 days total including shipping. Hard to complain about that.

@@theupsideofdownsizing Totally agree. Currently dealing with the awful customer support of a company that sells incredibly expensive blue batteries that will remain nameless. When the first response from the woman that answers the phone is "we don't accept returns on those" when she hasn't even heard a single word of what the problem might be you know you have an uphill battle ahead of you. Maybe the problem is you and your product and not the customer that was stupid enough to trust and give you their money.

@@TerraFirmaX Yes a shipping container connected to a substantial earth ground would work well. Even just sitting on the ground would likely do it. Many people use things like metal trash cans and metal bags then simply ground them to make protection vessels for their electronics.
