Hi , I bought this watch and I agree with most things you said but one thing . The mesh strap is micro adjustable - the clasp has an opening which when you insert a flat blade in the rectangular opening and lever ,it releases the clamp from the mesh , then you can adjust. One more thing , the watch sure is pretty and yes I do have to put glasses on to read the time but with this watch it forces you to take your time to appreciate it for what it is - a piece of art. love your videos and keep up the good work

I get this one in Black and I can not be more happier, ultra precise, quite eye catching. Mido is hitting far above than its supposed weight class. Best bargain.

I own this watch and have no trouble at all reading the time. The hands create a break in the circle which makes it very easy to read. Totally agree on the lume its terrible and the rubber band, I wore it for about 1 min and packed it away with the box. I put it on a nice caramel leather strap.

I can actually read the time pretty well in this video. Having said that, an honest review is always miles ahead of other reviews in the market. I am going to the local AD to see the dial for myself.

The watch dial looks smaller in person, also my eyes are getting older and I need reading glasses especially in low light. 10 years ago I probably wouldn't have noticed or cared as much.

I bought this watch knowing nothing but the brand. It is hardly legible and I love tool watches that are more practical to look at. This has many short comings , but it is a work of art . Agree with the review and I'm keeping mine too because it's different.

Great review! I've been curious about this piece since the Hodinkee release. I don't care too much about GMT/worldtime accuracy on a watch like this; we have phones and i double wrist a Fitbit for that. Mechanical watches are about expression and fun, and memory making to be honest.

Great review, I agree that they should make better bracelet with micro adjustment instead give rubber strap. I like to use my bracelet little loose, I think won’t work with that bracelet. I am planning to get one but not with that bracelet.

For what it's worth, I've found that the double drilled lugs offer me enough variation in size, albeit it's not quite as easy as an adjustable clasp. The sizings on the bracelet itself are pretty granular too, but you'll need a prying tool to adjust that. With double drilled lugs you still have to take your watch off but at least you don't need tools.

Great review. I was only just considering buying the black version this morning . I held off buying because the considerations you’ve touched on were apparent to me as well, hard to read and a great miss in the 24 hr chapter ring. Otherwise a very pretty and retro goodness vibe coming off it. I’ll mull this over before pulling the trigger. That mesh buckle is standard to most watches of this price range, got one one my Fortis SST gmt. Thanks

Useful review. Would have been better with lume shot as you mention it as as a missed opportunity. Some of the readability criticism is due to Mido doing a retro watch. The hour hand was short, really short, on the original, and the minute hand had the same shape as here, and was black.

Great review! I have one of these and I have all the same criticisms and also pros. I really enjoy this watch as a travel watch, and found that on vacation the illegibility is a little more forgivable, maybe because I don't have to be anywhere on time...? I love how quirky and interesting the dial is. The wearability is great. And you can actually know the time in multiple timezones. Not for everyone. But I really love it. Will be keeping it for sure. I also think part of the reason I can keep it is because I have many other watches that I can easily tell the time. Its easy to have flawed watches when we have other ones that are more regular.

It's very funny picking on the legibility, if people buy this dial thinking it's easy to read then common sense is not in play. Wish more company's would take more risks with their watches as 80% of the market is pretty much identical.

Micro adjust on a rubber strap and Milanese mesh bracelet? Come on man! If you’re that persnickety for micro adjust then just get a Perlon strap.

I said nothing about micro adjust on a rubber strap other than this watch allowing it because it has double-drilled lugs. I suggested they ditch the rubber strap and spend more on the milanese clasp. The rubber strap is a bit of a waste and I'd rather that money was spent on improving the clasp on the metal bracelet.

I bought this watch a year ago and it has spent more time at the shop getting the besel fixed than on my wrist. It is a piece of garbage.
