Awesome series and artwork. The artist who did the paintings for the USA, World, and Exotica marquees lives near me. I remember walking in his basement and was blown away by the original artworks.

I loved this arcade game as a kid, so many good memories. Looking back it's funny how this game allowed you to just topple redwoods, and the turns at the end amount to driving in circles, but hey whatever.

Whenever I hit the arcade and I heard it: Ohhh-waaah, Crus'inn! Yeahhh-yeahh, Crusi'n USA Yeahh! I RAN towards that sound lol. Daytona USA was another and you can hear them both across the floor, Day-to-NAAAAAAAA! lmao, I miss those days.

I didn't realize how lucky I was until I was much older that my grandpa had two arcade cabinets in his basement. This one, and a one where you were like cyber-cops who got mech-suits with mega-man style arm cannons.

Mortal Kombat put Midway in the stratosphere but I loved their racing games more than anything else in the 90's! These Crusin games, Offroad Thunder, San Francisco Rush and Hydro and Arctic Thunder were a lot of fun!

Played a shit ton of this at Indypopcon over the weekend. They had both the standup, and sit down cabinets, I believe the standup had the later rom revision as it didn't have the Corn Pops ad in the first level like the sit down cabinet they had. Their standup one was in much better shape, though the steering wheel felt a little loose for more minor steering input. The sitdown one had a bad yellow CRT, and the Markee was in bad shape.
@LyonsArcade7 жыл бұрын
It's getting harder and harder to keep those CRT's running....

This game Cruis'n USA (1994), Cruis'n World (1996), San Francisco Rush: Extreme Racing (1996), Off Road Challenge (1997), Hyperdrive (1998) Cruis'n Exotica (1999), Offroad Thunder (1999), and Cart Fury (2000) all used the same basic model cabinets.

Is it all right to leave them running all the time or is it best to turn them off
@LyonsArcade5 жыл бұрын
It depends on your situation, personally I turn them off when they're not being played just because it saves 'time' on the CRT screen. Eventually the tube will wear out depending on how long it's turned on.
