Wow! How fun! We grew up in Iowa, so made the trek from Colorado through Nebraska many, many times! Fun to see our part of the country through your eyes! :) You stayed in Fort Collins! That’s where we live! Darn!! Wish we had known you were coming through! We would have been happy to put you guys up! :) Love that you did the downtown tour to compare to Main Street USA! The exchange area is so fun! The giant bucket is actually a really good ice cream spot!! So fun to see our downtown through your eyes! :) You just missed New West Fest! It’s a good time if you ever make it back through! :) Welsh Rabbit Cheese Shop and Nuance chocolates are both great spots! Oh yes! The Midwest humidity!! Lol! It hits you like a wall! We grew up in Iowa so we’ve done the Omaha Zoo many times! Looking forward to seeing part II! :)

I used to live half of my life, working on the road between the Lincoln NE area and Riverside CA. . . You're retracing my route and the first thing that popped into my head at 4:01 is. . . "They're STILL working on that stretch of road!?!" LOL

And the Rest Area at 9:35 was one of my least favorites, LOL. . . because when I get to a Rest Area I GOTTA GO! And I don't want to walk a city block to get to the can! Ya know? Natural Beauty Score: 10. Functionality To The Needy Driver: 1 :)

We were astonished by the amount of construction along the entire route. It seems we were always driving through a work zone or being warned about one upcoming!

If this 'Kebob' was the summer of 2019, Nebraska got 'Shish'd' the winter immediately before with snow and ice. . . Badly shish'd. The roads in the SE corner of the state, along with Iowa's SW corner and Missouri's NW corner, that conjunction there, is still having trouble this winter with what was leftover from That winter. . . And That winter took out a lot of roads. . . I'm so glad to be off the roads! :)

Looking forward to this series guys! The scenery on route is spectacular- beautiful country. And a shop called Welsh Rabbit?! 😆. Nice to see the family too 👍.

It was indeed a very enjoyable drive. I didn't even know it was going to be that amazing, but loved every minute! Too bad that cheese shop wasn't open. I would've liked to have discovered if the owner was from Wales and sampled some Welsh fromage! I understand that "Welsh Rabbit" is actually a traditional Welsh dish, correct?

When it got to the Colorado part of the drive I thought “wow, Annette sounds a lot like Macy,” but I guess Macy sounds like Macy

Great! We really enjoyed the trip. It's even more enjoyable when you have time to hit up any road-side-kitchy-touristy-corny-fun-spot you see;)

@@disneydadoo6112 what places you recommend?
@disneydadoo61123 жыл бұрын
If you like corny fun, the places we stopped on I-90 in SD come to mind. The Corn Palace in Mitchell and Wall Drug. Of course you will likely be on I-80 as that's a more direct route to Lincoln. We used 90 on our return trip as we wanted to go to Rushmore and the Devil's Tower. I recommend both, but more so Devil's Tower. So cool. I also remember passing lots of fireworks retailers, and I really wanted to check one out, but somehow never managed to stop:(. ...next time!
