So cool to see these kids performing songs, their grandparents probably listened to. They did an amazing job with this one.

Probably the best cover of this song I have ever heard. And I'm old. Like really old... old enough to have bought this on vinyl when it first came out. Fabulous, guys. Really blew me away. Thank you.

I'm 48, a later bloomer to the Pink Floyd era perhaps. I love it and am just starting to grasp how involved this music is. To watch kids of this generation and age, farther removed, pick it up and play it with such heart...gives me a lot of hope. You guys rock, I think David has seen this and is smiling...quietly. Peace.

If your going to honour a song go all in and that's exactly what happened here absolutely. Gave me goosebumps because this is one of my favourite songs.

Guitarist Lia Spanos shows some fantastic work here! Clearly, all the young talents show here without exception a terrific performance, but of all yet Lia Spanos deserves a special attention. I wish her and all the other young talents more than the best. May they succeed in continuing to put music at the center of their lives. As difficult as that is nowadays, unfortunately.

Her playing on this song literally gave me goosebumps on my arms. When it was over, I went over to her teacher and asked "where the heck did she come from?"

This song came out when I was a pre-schooler, I got into it later and it's been my favourite pink floyd song since. I know it back to front and have tried covering it myself - I don't care that these guys didn't do it perfectly or made some oopsies, I loved that they got into it and I reckon they had a pretty good feel for the song, especially evidenced where they mix up the dynamics from piano to forte here and there. It's also really cool to see young peeps doing stuff that's not only a bit obscure but also older, and making it their own while keeping it recognisable. Awesome work!

What is really astonishing is that they get the set list from the team director three weeks before, learn the songs on their own from a playlist and notes from the director then get together for three days of rehearsal to gel as a band and practice, then go on the road. This complete show is available here on the channel, and you can get an idea of the breadth of what they covered. My favorite part is Ms. Spanos' guitar work, who gave me a deeper appreciation of Dave Gilmour's playing.

Wow that's amazing, thanks for the info. I was actually wondering how they came to be playing a song like dogs, that doesn't fit the standard sort of 3-minute pop/rock format

The director of this show is Andy Levenberg, the music director of the Chicago School of Rock which has been around for 11 years. He's a friend of mine, a great musician with a knowledge of music that is both deep and wide. He's been coming up with challenging programs for young musicians for years.
