I have a Miele C1 Powerline Classic which is very similar to the C3 except the tools are stored on a caddy that fits on the base of the hose rather than inside the machine, and there is a dial to adjust the suction level instead of the push buttons. It does such a fantastic job of vacuuming compared to the bagless Dyson that gave us nothing but problems. My mother-in-law has a Miele cylinder that was made in the 80s and it is still going very strong.

I’m really choked buddy, I just bought the top-of-the-line C3 over the holiday season! You know controls on handle, parquet floor brush, super Duper LED headlight turbo brush! Good deal, $1000 Canadian however, can’t park anything! No remote control handle no nothing! Still, nice racing green collar… I love my Miele! Two golden retrievers and a Partridge in a pear tree! Now, if I can just find the perfect cordless stick! I’ll be super chuffed with that! Love your videos man, I never thought I would become a vacuum cleaner obsesso! Just like you! That is pretty much the modern day equivalent of the old S8730 HEPA 2200W (which I own) which was sold back in 2012 / 2013 when the S8 first came out, and before it became the C3 Complete in 2014. The remote handle really makes this machine so much more convenient and nice to use. You should be able to hook this up to the new type full size turbo brush for lower wattage motors, and then it will be even better! A great model!

I had a rainbow for 14 years. It broke down, and is too expensive to repair. I bought a Miele C3 canister. Cleans very well. Air smells clean fresh... like i had used my rainbow. Is so quiet, i have been able to vacuum when family is asleep. Has a powerful light to see carpet. Tools seem well made. I have allergies. So far, this vacuum has worked as advertised. Store i bought it from said it will last 20-years. Cost me a little over $1,000.00 after taxes. My Rainbow was over $1,500.00. So my review is that this vacuum works as well, if not better, than my Rainbow, and was less expensive. Operating costs per year are estimated at around $100.00 for bags and annual filter replacement. The only thing that i dont like is that the cord is 24.5 feet long. Its a little short. It's an automatic winding cord, that works BEAUTIFUL, but had to give up some cord length to have that convenient feature. So far, it hasnt been an issue for me.

When you are started the S8 series of vacuums the resume parking switch had to be manually switch tan after you removed it from its parking space. It is quite odd considering previous models were not like that. Here in the US we haven't gotten any handle remote control Miele straight suction units since the S4 was made. That was only for a brief amount of time. Excellent demo ,quite envious of the things we can't have over here across the pond.

The USA gets loads of powerhead Miele vacuums but currently they don't offer any in the UK. The prices of Miele vacuum cleaners are much cheaper over here though. For example this one cost me £195 ($270)

You mentioned the time strip on the filter, to get it to work you have to push the green play button until you feel a click, it pops a red liquid that then travels along the strip when you use the vacuum, just in case you didn't know

I have a Miele C1 Powerline Classic which uses the same dustbags as the C3. It is Miele's entry level vacuum so it doesn't have the bells and whistles of the C3 but it still does the same fundamental job; vacuuming all the dust off the floor. I am really happy with it. The dustbags last a VERY long time in our house which has mainly wooden flooring. We had a Dyson bagless vacuum but my wife was unhappy with it due to blowback of dust in the house which affected her asthma. We have noticed how far cleaner the air and the floors are in our house after purchasing the Miele bagged vacuum as all the dust is stored in the bag; there is no blowback of dust whatsoever.

A decent bagged vacuum cleaner is always the best option for asthma sufferers in my opinion as the dirt disposal is cleaner than bagless.

Thank you for your reply ibaisaic. I agree with your comment. I have just subscribed to your channel because I really like how you review vacuum cleaners (cylinder and upright) in depth. I really liked your other videos showing the Hoover Junior upright vacuum (the one with the blue cloth dustbag that takes paper bags). My grandmother had one. I am just wondering if you can answer this question please. Why did vacuum manufacturers stop making the cloth dustbag holders (such as on the Hoover Junior) in favour of the hard plastic bodies on uprights towards the end of the 80s? I am pretty sure that an upright vacuum with a cloth dustbag holder is lighter and easier to store than an upright with a hard plastic bag holder. Kind regards. Hi Roger, I used to own this vacuum however miele Holland thinks dutchies are boring cause we didn`t get the Boost function or the airteq head. My unit came with the miele EcoTeqplus head. (Same head as the Blizzard has.) I think I need to warn you about this vacuum. Yesterday I got the E-mail back from Miele about my unit which suddenly failed on me. after 2 years 4 - 5 times uses per week. Like you I keep my vacuums in a just unboxed state. No scratches, or cheap aftermarket product come close to my vacuums. So it was a surprise when it failed on me this week. The E-mail stated that the inside connection from the cord rewind to the control display and motor. Was burnt, the control display was destroyed from the inside however the motor was fine =D it had little signs of use they said. The best part came in the end of the E-mail this is a problem Miele recognizes with this type of vacuum they currently have no solution on this problem repairing this and replacing the parts + postage will be around 190,- So my €390 2 years and 2 months old Miele is looking very shiny on the scrapyard. I have no idea which miele to buy at the moment. Best part of all the really bad reviewed Philips fc 9170 with 2200 watts and over 500 airwatts. Which according to the dutch consumer reporters wouldn`t last longer than 2 years. Has already 9 candles on its birthday cake and still going strong. If you get the change to get a Philips vacuum to review they are really the best! Kind regards your dutch fan =D

Roger, the full size turbo brush does not work in these 800 watt models that predate the new generation of motors introduced after the September 17 rule changes as there is insufficient suction to drive it. It’s fine with the mini turbo brush though. The older 1200 watt motors upwards are fine for the full sized turbo brush. I had the basic version of this one with the 800 watt motor and ended up giving it to friends and getting a total solution so I could use a turbo brush as it could not cope with dog hair. The new 890 watt motor is designed for the cat and dog and total solution models now replacing the old 1200 watt motor they used up until last September. I would be interested in your opinion of this new motor given the suction requirements of a full sized turbo brush.
