For anyone else who makes it here for the same reason - if the water is leaking from the hose after cleaning and replacing the filter, the filter isn't screwed in hard enough. I tightened mine as far as I could by hand and it didn't work. Pulled it back out, cleaned the threads extra well, replaced, and used a spanner for some extra leverage and now it's fine

Hi I have this machine. I have never been able to remove the filter door and water has never drained from the facet. Last night I managed to removed the door and was full of rubbish. I cleaned up and put it all back, now as soon as I start a wash, water pours from the faucet. Any ideas what might cause it?? Cheers

@@cheryl4812 My suspicion is that if it wasn't leaking before then something you have done has made it leak, but this may not be so. I would guess that you have some level of competence, so either a seal has not been put back correctly, or something is caught in the seal. I am just some idiot of the internet so it is flattering that you think I may be able to help. Maybe you should call miele to repair it. The other option is that you go through the process again. clean it out well and put it back together again. Good luck!

@@bootsowen First problem: it seemed that the Wash in a normal program didnt Get enough water, so i took out the filter, cleaned everything and put the filter back in place. The new problem: now when you run à program, the water flows directly trough the black overflowpipe next too the filter. What could be the problem??

@@lodeguillen5052 The seal on the filter is not seated correctly, take it out again and clean it and put it back in again correctly, making sure that the 3 rubber seals are all in the correct places and not broken.

@@bootsowen I have, and used 2 filters. Both looked Ok! The housing also seemed too be ok . Could iT be à kind of realease valve that doesnt keep the water in the mixer, while the program isnt set for pumping Away the water ? Must say that i apriciat your help verh much!

Miele Novotronic W820. I have cleaned out the front filter and replaced the screw cap but when I start the machine the water is coming out of the drain valve. Solution ?

hi! i have cleaned the drain, like literally scraped all the seams with a stick and toilet paper, tightened it back, but the water started leaking from the small tube when i turn the machine on, like one lady here in the comments mentioned, and no matter how well i clean/tighten the lid it doesn’t stop. i am crying, i am a student and cannot possibly afford a new machine. do you maybe know what to do with it?

If all you have done is taken the plug out and cleaned it, then it is something that you have done that has caused it to leak. I think there should be 3 rubber sealing rings, you have to make sure all of them are clean. if any are cracked then that may be your problem. Do it again. clean it with a cloth that has fibres like a towel to grab any dirt. Why would you need a new machine?

Since you are already crying and using the word literally i assume you are very weak. You need to tighten the filter really good, otherwise it will leak. If you can't do it by yourself get someone who is stronger to help you.

@@KingKong-mp6gj thank you for your kind advice! in the end i managed to do it myself, but the Rinse button didn't stop blinking, which means that the pump is done. so i ended up getting a new machine with my savings :D

@@Sonnebo Good to know, i was worried you would have a mental breakdown or something. I know this advice might come late but the pump is 20 bucks if you don't insist on an original Miele part. If you did not already throw the machine away i would suggest to repair it or give it to someone who can as no new machine can match the quality of this series, just save it from the scrapyard if you can.

Did this and when I closed the lid again, the water runs out from faucet when I start the machine. Does anyone know why?

The lid is not closed correctly. If it is open a little water will come out from the faucet.

Hi, take it apart again, clean it, and put it back together again. if the noise is coming from the pump (behind the filter) there may be something stuck in there still. if the noise is coming from somewhere else then you have another issue.
