Hi Roger, I just purchased a Miele swing H1 in red. I then purchased the power brush and it does a ok job on my carpet. I then purchased the upgraded power head that holds the vacuum up and has a head light plus its adjustable. I just gave this the ( Bag of filth ) test and wow. This is the best vac ever. Quick and easy with lots of power and quite quiet. LOVE YOUR VIDEOS

I have one of these Miele stick vacs. I have the 236 powerbrush and all of the above-the floor attachments. It's all I need (even though I have 2 Kirby's and a Rainbow)

Great machine, congrats👍They were produced for abt. 20 years and came with various motors and colors. I prefer those with Ametek Lamb motor which are more robust and have more sucking power due to the double rotor. Could be that yours is having one too.

Great review once again. This would be the perfect vacuum for my small apartment. It just needs the powerhead and I already have the same powerhead as seen in this video. Too shame the S164 Quickstep isn't sold here in the Finland.

I have a miele cat n dog cylinder that was brought back in 2004 and it still works. I even have miele fridge freezer, and yeah I am aware that don't actually make them.

They should re-release it with the Powerhead in the UK, as it would compete well with the likes of the Gtech Airram, Dyson DC59 and Bosch Athlet, as many stick type vacuums seem to be all the rage at the moment.

Hey Roger, I'm interested to know your genuine thoughts on parquet floor heads? I've used many and they just stick to the floor as the cleaner is to powerful to ensure it glides along. Plus they don't seem to have as good pick up as the standard combo floor heads?

Excellent through in-depth review, What is the MODEL # of the optional hose ( any web link will be appreciated )? most hoses on Miele site are for canister vacuums. Also is it possible to upgrade/modify to include the power nozzle socket for the models that doesn't have power nozzle socket?

model number on parquet twister head? best power nozzle for beater brush? i have the american red version of this stick vacuum. it is soooo quiet and light weight. i’ve owned higher priced vacuums, and i bought the Miele in 2013 and love it!!!

I have long hair. To me, i will use the motorised head after the main carpet / hard floor head to clean my carpets. That way, will let the straight suction have the chance to clean the carpets

Hi Roger. Great video, thank you. I'm interested in buying the S192 which is the model currently available in Australia. I've searched but can't find the optional flexible hose anywhere here. Do you know the reference number for the one you have (or are you able to share where you got it as I'd probably see if I can get one sent from UK). I'd appreciate your help. Thanks.

Angela Lewis I have checked Miele's UK website and the hose is no longer shown, but it may still be available. I suggest you contact Miele via their Australian website and enquire if they can supply one for you, or check other appliance spares websites. I got mine direct from Miele, but I don't have a part number I'm afraid.

Hi Roger Thanks for responding. After I posted on your site I called Miele Aus the next morning. The woman that I dealt with was great. I told her I'd seen the hose on your site and as I couldn't remember the model you were using I gave her the name of your site and she looked it up on KZbin whilst I was on the phone (I told her it was right near the end). She found it and new which model and looked up the accessories for that machine and I can order one from them directly. As I suspected the hose fits all the stick models so success, thanks to your video. Foolishly, I've left the details of the part number at work - doh! Happy to post here on Monday if it's useful. Glad you managed to get one. You'll find it so much easier to use for above floor cleaning with the hose and you will be able to clean the car with it too.

Found the details for the hose part: Miele 04781271 accessory They ain't cheap here but I find quite a few things here more costly than UK. The absence of a hose was the thing that was stopping me from getting one so I'm very happy.

Can you tell me what extension hose you used for this vacuum towards the end of the video to utilize it like a canister vac? I am unable to find the one that looks like yours. If you have the model number it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I bought it direct from Miele UK, but it's not on their website anymore. I suggest you contact Miele directly to see if the part is still available as they have re-intoduced this model, or at least one very similar to it.

Roger, one of my old ladies is looking for a light weight cleaner? How do you recommended the h1? She wants a small one just for upstairs however she does have 4 cats, I was concerned that the bags are rather small on the h1?

No, I wouldn't recommend it to someone wanting a lightweight cleaner and it's not great on pet hairs.

Hey Rodger, just a quick question for you! You seem to comment quite favourably on the parquet floor heads. I've not had any great results with those floor heads. Even when I've had my vac on low speed the head has stuck to the floor, and has not worked at all! What's your secret mate?

I don’t have a secret regarding parquet heads. The ones I have used work for me on my floors.

+Jazmin Lupercio Yes it would work, but the bags are small and would need to be replaced often if you have a lot of pet hair to clean up.

+Jennifer Poon This certainly has a great deal more suction than the Dyson, but it is heavier and mains powered. I personally would pick this over the Dyson as it is cheaper to buy, well made and performs very well.

+Jennifer Poon I'm not keen on spending a lot of money on a cordless vac because as you say they break after a couple of years, usually due to battery failure. They are a useful and handy tool for keeping on top of the cleaning though, but at the moment they are not a suitable replacement for a mains powered vacuum in my experience.

Can I get this vacuum in the US? I want to attach a motorized brush head like I have on my Delphi canister. It's great for cat hair. So far I can only find the s194 quickstep here at bed bath and beyond.

This is an older model, so I don't think it's available in the USA.

Thanks. The 194 is the same. I didn't like it all and returned it. Way too heavy and a terrible brush head with no wheels. Also the suction is not as good as my Delphi canister. I'm surprised Miele made this.
