Very great content! It was thoughtful you put screw sizes as well if needed. Is there a way to remove the hose for blockages hard to get? My Shark can do that but I’m currently vacuuming for my parents who have this Miele. It is heavy, but it is AMAZING at suction power.

Too bad they discontinued this. They also discontinued their traditional stick vacs some time ago. I have also had one almost since they came out and it's fantastic. I don't really use it much these days since I don't have carpeting per se, but it's great for all the reasons you mention. Around here these days I use my Compact C1 and my Hoover cordless upright. I considered the Triflex but knew I wasn't going to care for a bagless so I got the Hoover which has been great.

Yeah it's a shame! I really hope they have another great corded upright to replace the U1. I've gotten to use the Triflex, and it's very nice, but kinda messy to empty and keep the filter in the cup clean.

I just picked up an S7 2014 dated model at a pawn shop for $31.00. The bags cost more than I paid for the vacuum! Haha I ordered some bags on Amazon for $16 I think. Like you said the moment you start to use this vacuum you can tell it’s like a high end sports car, well more like a land yacht. It’s heavy but heavy means it’s well made I say.

@@VacTech1 i have this i got it for free its a 2014 model but it has something strange. when i put it on smooth it runs at full speed but when i turn the brush on it lowers its self to low pile when i turn the brush off it goes back up to smooth its so strange

@@TheVacuumWizard Sounds like you have a sensor that is either dirty or malfunctioning. Take it into your local Miele dealer and have them look at it, the vacuum definitely should not be doing that!

Hi, I took all the parts apart to clean all the air flow areas including the bottom plate but it’s very loud and it’s spewing a fine beige colored dust on the front and bottom. It is vacuuming however and sucking in whatever I put down on the rug. Any ideas as to why this is happening would be appreciated. Thank you!

Sounds like it could still be clogged, if dust is still falling out of the vacuum. You’re sure the base and hose are all clear? As far as the noise, was the bottom plate reinstalled correctly? It all has to line up properly, or issues could arise. Also if it’s clogged, it will sound high pitched. If you can’t remedy the issues, I would take it to a vacuum repair shop, where they will be able to get it straightened out. I hope you can save it!

It’s fixed! You were right. We kept working at it and some more stuff became unclogged and now it is not as loud and no more spewing dust like particles at the bottom plate. Thank you for your help! Couldn’t have done it without your video and advice🙂

You can get them used cheap! Last I checked new, the only model left, the U1 Homecare, was $799. It's a great machine.

​@@VacTech1I snagged a U1 Twist off FB Marketplace for $150, and was quoted $60 for a complete service from my local dealer. My only complaint is that it has no headlight. The White Miele U1 is also my favorite color variant aside from blue.

You can buy them at local vac shops, Bed Bath and Beyond, and online from several stores. Takes a type U bag. Genuine Miele bags are best!

This vacuum is quite reliable and has good features but the edge cleaning is horrible and the main motor is quite small and weak so carpet deep cleaning is not as good as a dyson per say.

Someone gave me this vacuum- but it doesn't work. There is red light but there is - no suction, no motor- any tips?? took it all apart and not clogs, is there a fuse somewhere?

Sorry it's hard to say without seeing it in person. I would look into any local vac shops in your area that work on Mieles.

Red light usually means a dead motor. I have 5 years working at a Miele Dealer and have worked on many of these machines with that issue.
