Thank you - it was more for fun, I’ve never had any real need to do any deep cleaning on the machine. Regular 70C washes for sheets and towels keep the drum as clean as the day I got it.

The dog is always cutting into my videos - he's my boy though :) Yes the W3033 is equipped with an induction motor. It's quiet, powerful, and reliable. The only carbon brushes my machines have is in the T8003 dryer, but not for the motor. There are 2 carbon brushes which ride the outside of the drum for moisture sensing. I hope to see many years of reliable service from this pair.

I did this on my Miele a few times with some limescale stuff and soap, I flushed out loads and loads of bits which was good

Not direct drive, it is a induction motor. I've had the machine apart, and it does not have carbon brushes. You can hear the whine of the invertor if you listen up by the control panel when the motor is turning. Also, service manual lists commutator-free in the specs as follows: Commutator-free 3-phase asynchronous motor MXT 40. Toothed V-belt. Gearing: 10.6 Control: Frequency converter (FU) integrated in power/program electronic (ELP).

This was just a "for fun" video. I do regular 2 hour 40 minute 70C (159F) maintenance washes at least once a month. :) This was just done out of boredom. :)

Both would be a great choice - I like the stainless models as well!

I'll have to do it sometime as I have received quite a few requests to do so. Stay tuned!

Glad to know Miele uses drive motor with no carbon brushes. One less maintenance service call to worry about. See comment below for details.

It didn't hurt mine any, but I did it for "fun". I just run regular maintenance cycles to keep the drum clean.

Hi there - look under my video titled Miele Touchtronic W3033 - Service Mode. It has a section in the programming where you can test the drum spin and alter it's speed during the cycle. This is where I did my spin for this video.

Yea I was doing all of the cycle functions in this video from the Service Mode. I did not overload it with water / detergent as I didn't want to try and "kill" it. It would be hard to kill a Miele anyway. :) Check out my Cat Bed Washing video - it had a major sudslock and it kept spinning for a long time before it gave up!
