I’ve watched several videos about the recent claims against Mielle, and most are just a commentary or review. This is the first time I’m seeing a detailed breakdown of the actual ingredients and how they can be harmful. Excellent work! I’ve only used a moisturizer/hair milk from this company (few years ago), and don’t remember any issues. I’ve considered trying a conditioner, but now I know I’ll be steering clear altogether.

Thank you for chiming in & taking the time to watch. I realize it’s a bit of a long vid. I’m that rare creative person that limelight’s as a science head lol so it’s always been important to me to understand how things work. Knowing all this of course presents unique challenges in the professional space when one aims to do the most good and least harm in their work. I’m happy to know you didn’t experience any issues as there has been confirmed revelations of ingredient and label changes despite the former owners recent public claims. Excellent choice to opt for another brand after seeing this because like ancestor Maya Angelou said “ when people show you who they are, believe them the first time.” These brands can use cleaner ingredients if they truly cared about our health more than their profit margins. They’d still make money just not as much. Blessings to you on your journey 💛

They were probably never certified organic, so they would be required to remove any mention of organic to avoid a fine from the National Organic Program(NOP).

A DIY natural is a natural after my own primary product practice. It’s definitely best, then organic shelf stable products with non toxic preservatives of which there are few brands offering that I know of at this time. I recommend a few of that caliber in my ebook by hair type. May that change for the better as more of us increase our health standards and ingredient knowledge. Thanks for the love on the video! I had an episode with Sheamoisture with a changed formula to one of my favourite shampoos (JBCO). They added a polyquat-10, and it was drying my curls, it wasn’t curling, and breakage!! I’m using a mix of Camille Rose, Skala, and Lola from Rio now. Still using a cowash from As I am. But I’m moving away ftom them as I find other products that come in a larger quantity for my long hair.

@basiqueopulence888 Ай бұрын
@suzanneaubin7599 I’m glad you noticed the change and moved away from that shampoo. Polyquats are bad business! When you start examining ingredient labels you’ll notice similar ingredients across different brands. It’s those common core base ingredients that are slowly doing the damage which leaves consumers hopping from product to product THAT ALL CONTAIN SOME OF THE SAME INGREDIENTS. The best move is away from those that contain harmful toxic ingredients. I have several recommendations in my ebook. Link in the description. I just watched a video of a creator stating it’s common for lawsuits to be filed against hair companies. That is true but what she isn’t considering is the other common thing - THE INGREDIENTS!

I feel attacked and genuinely sad at this moment. I never use drugstore products but took a chance on this. Started using it 5-6 weeks ago and my hair has been falling out in chunks in the shower. I want to cry. I cut my hair 3 weeks ago because I really thought it was me and I was afraid that I was somehow ill. I have been expressing concerns to my partner. After discovering this I threw all their products in the trash. I regret straying from my home made natural products so deeply. Please spread the word and thank you so so so much for this video!

I'm soo very sad to hear you've been affected by these products. Always trust your body when it signals you something is wrong. If the only thing you changed was introducing these products then they are the problem for where your unique body chemistry is. It's heartbreaking and upsetting because most of us have no idea hair products contain such toxins and can cause these types of problems. I recommend avoiding all known toxins as much as possible in favor of a holistic lifestyle because you never know when your system hits overload and starts to display symptoms from hair loss to cancer. The good news is when you remove the toxins the body will go into repair mode. I'm happy you've found the video helpful in connecting the dots for you. I offer some truly safe brands in my ebook for those who want options in addition to DIY. Blessings to you on your journey!

Mielle hasn’t been 💯 organic since at least 2019. That is when I stopped using it because it was causing extreme itching and dry roots. I noticed then that they had taken the “organic” moniker off their products and it was just “Mielle” that’s when I figured they either changed ingredients or sold the company. My hair thinned at the crow and I haven’t used it since.

IIRC, a lot of the straight haired ladies who jumped on the mielle oil trend started reporting that their hair was falling out in clumps and they received comments telling them that it was because the oil wasn't made for them, but turns out, it was actually bad for everybody, just took longer to show effects for curlies 🤔

I love and prefer all natural organic products but that Soybean oil in the Mielle oil for me is a no go because I know how contaminated inorganic US grown soy products are. The problem is we view any issues we experience in isolation and think it's our own problem and not caused by any specific product especially when the advertising says something to the contrary. My daughter had a lot of hair loss and itchy flaky scalp after using the shampoo but her hair is sensitive so we put it down to that. I had issues but nothing severe. However i was discontent with the performance and when the issues became apparent by other users i promptly binned it! It's certainly is horrifying. Most of us don't realize the ingredients in lots of our personal care products can cause harm over time because they are toxic. All natural is always best when you can get it because then the major concern is allergies when properly formulated vs all this other stuff, next is a fusion of natural and safe synthetics. I'm happy to know you haven't had any issues as is the case for many people as well. When evaluating products I am looking at not only the presence of toxic ingredients but also how many harmful ingredients per product are present and Mielle ranks very high risk. There are soo many of our black owned brands I could not put on my recommended products list in the ebook for this reason. These brands announce nothing ever when it comes to formulation changes so we have to truly look at labels with each purchase to know what we're getting. Thank you for watching & chiming in.

'Organics' was removed prior to the merger and the founder maintains there are no ingredient changes; hence, the alleged issues reflect on their brande and not P&G. Thanks for clarifying the Organics was removed prior to the acquisition. I don't use products that are specifically designed for black hair. I don't trust them. No, ma'am. I'll take what THEY use - shampoo and conditioner without sulfates or parabens. That's it. Everything else is grape seed, olive, avocado or coconut oils. I also occasionally do a scalp treatment with rosemary leaves and cloves. ❤ this is beautiful information from a beautiful woman, this reminds me of the biblical Israelite women, whom once curses were put upon their generations from disobedience the women were put in captivity by way of SHIPS, to a far away land never to see their homeland again and their hair which was their glory and their crown, was struck with baldness, loss, scabs, dryness, breakage, so on..... We have been dealing with this and found a way out by going natural.... And now our captors have been trying to keep us in that state of curse by manipulating our efforts.... thank you for being here and sharing the story of the biblical Israelite women. Whether one identifies as that or not no one can deny that it is clear that God by whatever name you call it is not pleased when we opt for Man's creations ( toxic products, relaxers, perms, wigs, weaves, extension abuse) over God's. The products that exponentially harm are not NATURAL (barring allergies & concentration errors) not made by NATURE - an extension of God/ The Creator of ALL & not compatible with our divine natural biochemical composition. Making one's own natural products is an option I wish more of us would explore when we are unable to obtain truly organic natural products. I recommend a few brands in my ebook that are top tier and getting it right but we absolutely need more or to become home holistic hair mixtresses. natural hair = natural products for highest health. It truly is that simple. Blessings to you on your journey!

I’m glad spirit lead you away from Mielle in the very beginning it was pretty good and then they slowly and quietly started changing ingredients and exposing their customers to health risks. Good non toxic gels are challenging to find so I do understand you making that yourself. I’m also focused on perfecting a few gel offerings so we have more to choose from that are actually nourishing instead of drying and provide good hold. Please be sure to help manage expectations with regards to potential compensation, if any, from a class action lawsuit which is often nominal. Cash refunds on the actual products regardless of how much was used or not may be more beneficial financially even while pursuing the class action with intent to hopefully bring greater awareness to and change in ingredients and practice at the brand's expense and not to be passed onto the consumers. And folk remember, our natural hair is not foreign or crazy complicated. KISS: Keep it simple sis. Be well.🕊

Should the ladies & gentlemen impacted move forward with the class action lawsuit their attorney does have a task at managing those expectations. Generally speaking no one gets rich in these types of cases for sure and unless the attorney is an experienced bull the damages fight may be sacrificed in favor of settling. I’ve been a part of a property related class action / mass tort lawsuit and my attorney got us dollars not coins! But he also kept it very real with me of the different ways it could go because of all the folks involved and our varying degrees of damage. Yes indeed our natural hair is easier than a lot of folks are making it. The more simple the regiment the better the hair thrives. Thank you for being here & blessing to you on your journey 💛

For a LONG time I thought my hair was coming out from my change in hair color and change in city as I was starting my masters program when she sold her company. So I am so grateful I couldn’t always afford them because lord knows how much hair I could have lost while being under so many other stressors. Lord have mercy. I want to sue so bad. Grateful that I am also a hair enthusiast and mostly prefer making my own products that I now will be selling soon, but this whole thing really shook me and made increase my focus on getting my line out. Success to me would be if only people in my city brought it. I’d still be good. I’m not selling to those corporate devils who don’t give a fuck about Black hair or Black people. So sorry for all the losses so many of us experienced from this. God Bless and cover us in this time and protect our health. Amen.

Wow! Look at you being saved from this situation during that time. Color done right and hair balance maintained definitely won’t experience breakage. Color was one of my specialties behind the chair 😉 now stress definitely can cause excessive shedding. I’m rooting for you and the success of your line using safe and healthy products for us as we truly need more of that available to us. I share your enthusiasm and aspirations in business as with my own line being the biggest has never been my focus only the best in my category of offerings and whatever that yields it is well with me. Too many of us are compromising our integrity for money as if God cares how rich you were in your Earthly life! And I guarantee if you knew you were doing harm to others to get your riches God gonna decline access to the next realm and have you repeat Earth School until you spiritually elevate! LOL Do share your line when it is ready. I love to keep my pulse on premium brands 💛

When I first came upon Mielle, and the line was getting the most hype from off of influencers and individuals that were celebrity friends. I chose to try out a few products, out of curiousity, even though I knew that the line was started by someone who had a medical background on the nursing field. But, I take full responsibility for choosing to give the few lines that I did buy from the line a try. I came to understand that the line is based off of “hype”. Also, there was nothing within the products that were very impressive overall. I only liked the Avocado Moisturizing Hair Milk that they offer, which is apart of their original collection of products initially launched. I am referring to the original version of that product only. But, I eventually moved on from the line, and didn’t have it on my radar to even care to buy products from the line anymore, until they launched their Sea Moss Collection. I chose to try a few other products from the line, hoping that I would actually be more impressed this 2nd time around. I bought their Rosemary Mint Styling Creme, Rosemary Mint Drops, reformulate version of their Avocado Hair Milk, and their Honey &’Ginger Edge Control again, after things with it going rancid after a short while W’s supposed to have been fully resolved. I will say, Mielle is not getting a 3rd chance from me. Not very impressed at all with the line. Doesn’t live up to the hype. The ones that honestly made this line super popular and misled others into believing that it is truly a line that will be absolutely life-changing for one’s natural hair are the ones celebrity friends and the paid influencers. I have walked completely away from entertaining these influencers promoting a whole bunch of stuff that isn’t needed. These people care more about their pockets and the free stuff and money they get from these brands and the attention and exposure, than the overall safety of the products that they are promoting to the public in general and not caring about the harmful side effects to one’s health that a lot of these hair care products have done and are still doing, Also the original name being Mielle Organics was something that I couldn’t understand how it was allowed to get away with on the 1st pls e, because one of the products are certified organic, and putting a level of herbal ingredients into a product doesn’t automatically make a product organic either. Truthfully is there a major difference with Mielle’s products that what was already out there on the market before their products started being sold to the masses? No. The same can be said about these celebrity hair care lines, because their no better as well. Oh, and complaints against Mielle had been rolling in before the owner of Mielle ever sold their company. However, it is up to all of us consumers to throughly research a product deeply before buying it. Because, one’s health is at stake. Either you choose to deeply value your health 1st and foremost or following these influencers and buying a ton of hair care products filled with toxic ingredients that should be avoided at all costs. Plus, it is up to consumers to gain professional expertise on how to best take care and manage both their hair and scalp’s environment in order for healthy hair growth to be achieved and successfully retained, so that one can see their hair thrive at it’s maximum potential. No one should ever put their everything into a hair care line, if you don’t know how to properly maimed your hair and scalp in the best way over overall. Much good luck to all on their healthy hair journeys! I sincerely mean that from the heart ❤️!

Thank you for watching & chiming in. While I do believe everyone is better off accepting their own natural hair I leave room for non damaging heat straightening to be in the mix. The problem for me when it comes to wearing straight hair is toxic chemical exposure via relaxers, Brazilian blowout type services or permanently damaging your natural hair with high heat abuse. When we start doing harm to ourselves for a hair style (or any reason) we really have to stop and look at that.

@leilaluster2788 arguably grease is safer than some of these products that contain multiple toxins vs just the base itself of petroleum and oftentimes fragrance I’m not a proponent of grease due to its inability to nourish hair and skin and increased skin cancer associations. But unrefined butters and water are a top tier alternative that not only lubricates hair and skin like grease aka colored scented Vaseline while assisting in slowing moisture evaporation like grease but they also provide nutrients for hair and skin that strengthen and soften them among other things without the health risks. Less is more and all natural is best. Thank you for chiming in. 🌱
