On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.
If you enjoy war thunder or Microsoft flight simulator 2020 or even dogfighting in Battlefield 2042, consider getting yourself into Digital Combat Simulator by Eagle Dynamics, the Combat side of Aviation with the BVR and Dogfights really provides a different and interesting perspective on aviation. You can fly all kinds of combat aircraft including the F-16, F-15, F-14, JF-17, Su-27, Mig-29, Mirage and the F-18 Hornet along with many other aircraft and helicopters like the Ka-50 and Mi-8.

Silent hunting was definitely how the Vietnamese used the MiG-21 very successfully. They used GCI to position themselves behind and then do hit and run tactics , this was effective enough that so many of them became aces.

@JagdgeschwaderX unlike Korea there are no sources that Russian or Chinese pilots flew in vientam. There was North Koreans in Vientam that flew MiG17s(and they generally didn't do very well) We have access to good sources on North Vietnam airforce and can usually name every single North Vietnamese pilot that shot down a plane or got shot down. The N Vietnamese would pull out and fly to China to avoid American attacks while they trained. Nk and Chinese engineers helped build and maintain roads and bridges. Russians and Cubans had advisors in country, usually help to train the North Vietnamese in use of SAMs. But no evidence of Russian, Cuban or Chinese pilots.
@timonsolus
@timonsolus 6 ай бұрын
@@colinmarshall6634 : North Vietnamese pilots were trained in the USSR and received the same training as Russian pilots. So they were just as good as the Russians after completing their training, and they were better than the Russian pilots once they had gained some combat experience (which Russian pilots lacked after the 1950's).

This brings 2 memories to mind. 1) That scene in "Flight of the Intruder" where they are trying to throw off the MiG and they accidentally cut off the engines on their A-6; and 2) "For a brick, he flew pretty good." - Sgt. Johnson, HALO 2. I can't imagine the MiG-21 having very good aerodynamics in an Engine Out scenario.

@@Max_Da_G The MiG-21 really was not intended as a fighter. It was designed as a light, fast interceptor with some limited dogfighting capability. That is suggested by the overall design and having the general shape of a lawn dart.

This version has better avionics, MFD's, HUD, new radar and capable to carry Rafael Python III (Israel) or Matra R.550 Magic 2 (France), air to air missiles. The LanceR's were modernised only for Romanian Air Force.

Is it possible to simulate some sort of (fictional) very fast, very high altitude fight? I'm thinking about a high Mach speed (Mach +2.8), above 80 thousand feet high. I'm aware that such event might require some rare machines (the YF-12 and MIG-25, perhaps?) or none existent fighters. And it wouldn't be as "busy" as these that you're used to show, with all the turns and maneuvers (the turns would be very challenging at these speeds, but a dogfight might be doable?). The passing-byes would be awesome to watch, though, at Mach 3 or 4! Thank you!
