In capable hands, this plane is a real beast. We found that out the hard way on Jan. 17, 1991. A MiG-25 PD shot down a Navy F-18, then went after an A-6 and could have shot it down as well but was not given clearance to fire by its ground controller and had to RTB.

NGL. the mig 25 was shit was only built for shooting down the xb70 that flew in a straight line. wings would rip on 7 gs and avionics werent that great

Apologies it was 17 kills. 1 F-15 killed over lebanon. 13 kills in the Iran-Iraq War. 3x F-4E F-5F 2x F-5E MiG-21RF 2x RF-4E Fokker F-27 C-130 EC-130 Gulfstream III 3 kills in the Gulf War. F/A-18 F-15C RQ-1 The fact you think it can only hit targets going in a straight line betrays the fact you know basically nothing about missile guidance. The R-40 was the first APN missile, additionally the SARH variant had the first monopulse seeker head. The missile also had a G overload of 8-10Gs depending on altitude which is nothing to scoff at considering it's speed. Where exactly did you get the notion that the R-40 is usesless? I also want your source on the wings ripping at 7Gs for the MiG-25 and the supposedly lackluster avionics.

Да, такой пролёт над полями одинокого МиГ-25 видел в 1988 году. Мы в ЛТО помидоры собирали. Вначале гром, шум, потом/ как молния пролетел. У меня до сих пор эта картина перед глазами. Idola узнал по хрипоте сразу. Кассета дома есть! Автору СПС!
