Mig welding is fun and it can bring out the creative juices in us. But one of the most frustrating things that can happen when Mig welding is your Mig welder won’t feed the wire. When this happens, this is usually caused by a number of issues. It could be that the Mig welder wire feed motor not working because there is trouble within the circuit board components, the connectivity to the drive motor is cut , or the motor has an issue or maybe the problem his inside your MiG torch.
But since you don’t know what’s happening, you have two options. It’s either you take your machine to the shop and spend a good amount of money or try to solve the issues yourself first. But then you must know how to troubleshoot a mig welder because Mig welder feed problems, as we mentioned, can be caused by many reasons, and sometimes some of these problems can be interconnected. In this video, I will teach you, through my experience, some Mig welder repair techniques which I call “quick tips fix for Mig welder wire feed problems”. These tips I’ve learned from years of experience and most of the time, they work!!
So if your Mig welder wire feed motor not working, you could do first the following: checking the electricity flows the circuit board to your drive motor, replacing the fuses, finding and checking the machine’s “wire check button” This will let you know if the motor is still good, and checking the connectivity between the motor and the torch. All of these may sound so easy to do right? But don’t think that way because you still must know how to actually do them to avoid further complications. Especially when dealing with electricity, the welder’s motherboard, the motor, and connectivity between the torch and the machine, you may cause further damage if you work on them the wrong way. If you don't feel confidant just take it in for repairs at a store.
