MIG VS TIG What's Quicker? Is a quick video I made showing the benefits of MIG or TIG. TIG welding took much longer but grinding was minimal. MIG welding was quick but time consuming when grinding. Both processes took roughly the same time. If you're bench welding TIG might be better if you don't like grinding. MIG would be a better choice for most in position welds. Great video thanks. Something else to factor in when your frame is 2-3 metres (6-10 feet) is, I’m guessing here, not convenient to kick a foot pedal around to each corner of your work piece. Where as you can just step along with your mig torch.

Have you tried the 3m cubitron fibre disc it's so much better than a flap wheel that's all I buy now I can't live without them 😂 . I do 1mm sheet metal on cars for a living tig is faster for me usually because mig I have to grind both sides before I stretch and relieve the weld tig I can put just enough filler rod aka mig wire to grind abit on the top then I can just hammer them back to flat again after it distorts. tig softens the metal more I noticed aswell

OK, it looks good if you TIG weld it. Also, you didn’t factor in me having to resharpen my tungsten several times because I dipped it. If I could TIG like you do I’d probably sell my MIG. How do you like that hand held drum sander thingy? I’ve thought about getting one in the past. Looks like a real good finish you were getting there on film. Kind of a brushed look 👍

Haha ya thats true! Over the long run mig would probably be quicker. I was surprised by how close it came out! Im really digging the sander thing! It works great so far! Especially on newer metal

I prefer TIG inside the garage. Sure it's slower, but I don't shoot shit all over the place!

True! But in position welds i would much rather MIG! Get in and out without getting as sore! Haha
