Jodie You are literally the guy that got me into welding. I was working at a fab shop as the cold saw operator and I watched a few of your videos one night and thought hell yeah I want to do that, so I asked the boss if I could learn to tig as we delt with stainless steel. It's been 2 years now and I've bought all of my own equipment and I own my own fab shop. I can mig and tig quite well now and I love what I do. Thanks for the videos mate they were literally the start of my new life.

My welds came out smoother once I began watching the puddle as well as the rod or gun. Multitasking is an understatement when it comes to welding.

and old, worn-out cable-hose assembly leads to pulsating stucking of wire and the negative pole clamp needs some help sometimes, thought about that? Jody is very very good and experienced, but it always seems like he uses nearly new equipment. My mig-wilder (and the cable hose) are thirty years old - that makes a difference boys ...

Yeah where i am from (Estonia) euro test welding exam pieces are 30 cm in lenght 8 mm thick 30 degree angle and landing about 2 mm edges. And you have to stop and restart requiring you to grind the starting point, so that it wont be strongly visible from the root side. You think its easy but without much practice its not.

Was welding 2mm steel inner wing to old 1970 1mm wing on a classic BMW today. Cleaned the edges and bevelled as much as I could do with the thing weak metal on the car. Anyway for some reason I tried both ways and yep downhill much nicer. uphill was blowing holes in the metal.
