This is great, thank you for sharing your insight! In my humble opinion, both possibilities are absolutely valid. Indeed, the first option seems more likely. Please consider addressing more interesting secretes, mysteries and trivia of Might and Magic VI.

world map is actually seamlessly "glued" from regional maps with area transitions just being invisible walls. i always have it opened on the second screen while playing

if you start from the magyars chest (southeast part of whitecap), climbing front, and then you follow the grey part of the snow mountain in the map, you'll find a perfect designed path for going down to Stromgard.

The corner of ironfist allows you to go to freehaven instead of bootleg bay or mire of the damned. The very corner.

I actually think the mentioned secret passage is between castle Stormgard and castle Stone in this same map.

another theory that the secret pass is the west road from white cap to kriegspire, directly to agars laboratory

There is a secret teleporter in the thieves cave in this town map. I never searched for it, it was shown in MIght and Magic 6 Secrets guide.

not sure if you're aware but if you go right into the NW,NW,SE and SW corners of the map it will take you to a different zone

He could be referring to all of them. The pass between Castle Stone and the rest of Frozen Highlands saves you from having to go around through Free Haven. The 2 you pointed out also make sense. It might be just a general statement about mountain passes, even though it's "listed" as Secret Passes.

what you seek is non-existent. the secret path is a route between stone castle and Castle Stromgard. but the only way is to fly above the mountain. no real path

IFAIR you can also just repeatedly cast jump spell in MM 6-8 to scale any incline, especially the ones that are too high to cross via flying. Kinda ridiculous.

This is probably really stretching the definition of a "pass in the mountain," but if we are talking about Frozen Highlands, what about the teleporter room in the Shadow Guild Hideout? It's pretty secret, is in the Frozen Highlands, (with)in the mountain and does teleport you to some pretty distant areas.

Great explanation! I tend towards the Hermit Isle/Dragonsand option because the NPC is a pirate and a path near a waterway seems like something he would know :)

castle stone west, close to the castle you can climb rocks without jumping and access the harpy mountain, it's good for warrior group, but yours is also a nice shortcut.

This is very late, I realize, but I think I figured this one out. It's probably referring to a hidden passage in _Heroes of_ Might and Magic 2, which this game is based on and you fight the same monsters and stuff. I happened to find myself playing that recently and, in the map approximating Enroth, there is, in fact, a passage that is hard to find but cuts days off travel between the indicated areas. I probably wouldn't have even known to look for it if not for this video.

I think this game needs a upgrade and relaunch. And make what they say a real thing.

If I had any ability to mod games, I’d rework a lot of things, to make the game more modern, but a lot of the game as it is is how it’s supposed to be. If we changed the game too much, would it still be might and magic 6? Occam’s Argo, you know?

@@cjfox2311 I agree. I'm just saying to clean up the graphics, mayb add more side quests, add quests or hidden things to prove what the NPC's say. Give us a chest to store items.

I absolutely agree. There aren’t a ton of quests by modern standard, but the bounty hunting is kinda like radiant quests. I would’ve really liked to have seen the NPCs have information about hidden stuff, but it could just be the rumors around town.

@@cjfox2311 agreed. With this game having so much gameplay after you beat it. There should be more rare named mobs that spawn through put the world after you beat it. But I would love a chest at the bank with a few tabs for gear. Wouldn't take much to add end game content.

@@Jason-vi2pj I never even considered the bank. Now that you mention that, it’s a huge missed opportunity. I hate selling unique items, but there always comes a point where you have to give them up. For late-game content, I’d even settle for a new game plus type of thing or just a randomly generated dungeon to run every week. I still run my farming loop a few times a week, but it’s not very exciting after level 400. Any idea who could make mods for the game?

At that point you will have flight / town portal... how else do you kill those high lvl mobs if you do not even have those spells which can be bought at free haven? All these secret paths are redundant due to TP, Beacon and flight.

Not only are there townsfolk who tell you info, there's also the "Tip Barkeep" option at taverns. Does that give you more information? With regards to the name of the series, why not "Barkeeps and Banter"? Since that's where you'd get most of the info you can find in the game.

Barkeeps and Banter is pretty good! Tipping barkeeps gives you a random general rumor, so that could be the best way to find things to test out.

It certainly doesn’t take that long to travel, just go west from the town and you get to kreigspire in the same 5 days !

Yes, but only if you have Fly. If not, you are on the northern side of the mountains leading to the Dragon Rider's Cave.

Form an RP standpoint, it could be uninformed rumors that get regurgitated, but from a mechanical standpoint, its gives me a reason to talk to them and figure out what’s true and what isn’t.
