My mother loved playing Might & magic on the old commodore PC back in the day. I played a little bit of M&MII and it was fun. Lot of good memories from her playing, rest her soul.

I only ever played MMVI and MMVII on the PC in the late 90s. I found them to be amazing games. I did have the Might and Magic Collection at one point and tried to play some of the earlier games and I couldn't get pass the graphics. Some earlier RPGs aged better graphically, like Ultima VII. Still if I had this for my Turbo Grafx back in the day I would have played the hell out of this.

Good stuff, Chris! This is a genre that has piqued my interest more recently. I never played many of these styles of RPGs growing up. This one in particular looks pretty solid for a console one. Nice to see some variety like this on the Turbo Grafx!

I always got excited for “pc style” games on the tv. Because mainly I couldn’t afford a computer! Also on the tv the games just run and are ready to go. Even tho this was basically at the end for TTi I do recall seeing a lot of print ads for this one. Maybe it was use or lose it for the ad budget

He finally reviewed this one! If you like classic first person RPGs such as Wizardry or Dungeon Master, then this is a must play! The graphics are actually more appealing in this one than the original PC version, in my opinion.

yes its selling point was better graphics and sound

I disagree. PC graphics for MM 3 are more vibrant.

Good to see a good port of this on the Turbo! I myself am more familiar with the clouds of Xe’en/Darkside of Xe’en on computer. Neat this was they both combined to make World of Xe’en witch made for a real long play thru!

Another great video in a great series. Here's hoping you go deep into import games after this! Maybe even a little cheeky bonus NEC console content. PC-FX, SuperGrafx games mayhaps?

I found order of the griphon to be quite fun. If not a little difficult and tedious. Especially when a Thoul does energy drain and erases 3 levels from a character. You basically have to reset the game to a previous save when that happens. You loose the levels and stats but your EXP stays the same. So if for example you are level 8 and get 3 levels drained. It now takes you the amount of exp to get to level 9 just to get to level 6. And to just get back to level 8 it takes the ammout of exp that it would take to get to levels 10 and 11. Which is vastly more exp than it originally took to get to level 8. And d&d games arent like jrpgs where your level max is like 99. It isnt easy to level up and you usually only gain 10 or 12 levels the entire game. So for a character to get level drained is impossible to recover from. That character will always be behind in levels. It takes them the same exp to catch up as it does for the rest of the team to gain new levels. So you can never catch up. The other characters will still gain levels as you try to catch up so its like running a race where the finish line is moving away from you as fast as you run toward it so its always out of reach. And its especially frusterating when you can beat the game at level 10 or 12. So each level you gain makes such a huge difference that a character only 2 or 3 levels behind becomes useless dead weight.

I tried to play Might and Magic 3 or 4 on the PC back in the day. I found the experience to be too aimless, I just wandered around for hours trying to figure out what to do. I don't know, I had way more fun with the AD&D gold box games like Pool of Radiance.

Only one game of each format left. I think he will finish up the Super CDROM games next. I cannot imagine he would leave Shape Shifter for last.
