Ah the dark times. I remember those days well. In some ways this is similar to 90s Star Wars toys continuing in with no new movies to make toys for, the last hold out for the brand. Thankfully we only had it for a year, but I did enjoy it because of how experimental and creative it was and the fact that I could have MMPR merchandise for the first time as I didn't have anything for it before then.

I remember this!! It was fun seeing MMPR on the shelves again as an adult. I bought the Deluxe Megazord since I always wanted one as a kid. I enjoyed seeing all the accessories that came in some of the other packaging. It reminded me of something ToyBiz would do.

That damn 2010 megazord got me back into power rangers at 26 years old, I hadn't even walked down a toy isle in years but when I seen that megazord sitting on the shelf at Wal-Mart I had to buy it and when I got home my room mate made fun of me all through the sticker process that he had to help with then he found full episodes on youtube and we started watching all 3 mmpr seasons and even dressed up as power rangers for Halloween... I even pocketed a bunch of scrap steel from work to weld together a 2 foot long dragon dagger for my Halloween costume that jdf signed in 2012!

2010 was my reintroduction into Power Rangers toy collecting. I was always into the toys as a kid, and asked for them at any Birthday or Christmas I could. From In Space to Dino Thunder, I was able to get a bunch of figures and zords. Of course, like every pre-teen, I grew out of them around the time S.P.D. was airing, and didn't even look at the toy shelves until the 2010 line again, where I started buying the 4" figures (now that I had my own income). I haven't looked back, and have every mainline zord and basic action figure since.

I was excited to see the original series come back around, but I remember thinking that a lot of the toys were really cheap and I passed on most of it. I did get a set of the original rangers and the Dino megazord, but that was about it. I didn’t like what they did to the show either. It was re-edited and had 1966 Batman style graphics added to it like “BAM”, etc… Great video!!

Speaking on the Zord Builder system I have never understood the side of the fandom that lost their minds over what was just a shared port system among the deluxe megazords. It's like they thought the port system was responsible for the mold changes and missing paint applications when... it wasn't, the economy went down the toilet in '08 and using the JP molds was no longer a viable option. The only time to my knowledge the Zord Builder system ever affected a choice from Bandai was when they scrapped adapting Zyuohger because they couldn't find a way to put the Zord Builder ports into the Zyuoh animals without severe compromise... that's it. My own personal criticism of the Zord Builder system boils down to the inconsistent stability, with the Gosei Great Megazord being kinda floppy, and disliking the use of the port in the Legacy line since I partially blame the MMPR Ultrazord collapsing in on itself on the port being poor at handling a lot of weight. Sorry for the wall of text I've just been holding these thoughts in me for years and it feels appropriate to spill them out here. Also, great video! Very well researched and put together, informative too since I knew barely anything about the 2010 toyline besides from the ZB system being introduced here and the cartoonishly large hands on the 4 inch figures. Keep up the amazing work!

It's like that time Disney bought the biggest film franchise in history and managed to LOSE money with it. Imagine if the figures continued in the Super Legends style and had the same brains as the Legacy line, they just had to have that 5 years or so of slop before they got going in the right direction.

those series 2 figures were nearly impossible to find too, like it must've gone to drug stores and liquidators because series'1 warmed for so long, there was just so much non-canon crazy crap that you couldn't tell what it was supposed to be unless they didn't pop a ranger helmet on top
