It's amazing the difference between Toyota and VW in their approach to making a performance car. Toyota seems to take the simplest path that works properly, VW, in typical European style, add sensors to everything. I guess that's why I love Japanese cars, they're only as complicated as they need to be, engineered to last, and end up being worth more after 10 or so years, based on the fact that you don't have to take out a 2nd mortgage to keep them on the road.
@bigredranga69

Lol my 'costly' VW has been abused to hell and back for 390K (340K of which was done by me) and has been through ONE driveshaft. The amount of 'proper/mens performance' cars it has roasted is hillarious so $1.5K in parts hardly seems expensive compared to my last Japanese performance car which ate CV's for brekfast every other week and was definitely slower..annnd less enjoyable to drive 😏🤣

A trick for pre filling your oil or trans cooler: hold the hose up the connects to the high point of the cooler. use a funnel to fill it. Clamp it off with hemostats about 4”, 100mm, from the open end of hose. Connect it. Unclamp. Prolly unnecessary but I always get paranoid about cavitation when the air hits the pump and the uncertainty of my fill level

@@reefbloke your right you know! When I fitted my cooler I filled the cooler up best I could through one of the pipes, then fitted it as full as possible. I then cranked with no spark plugs until the oil pressure light went out The last bit of air would be purged out as the car approaches 70°c as it closes gradually, and has about a 10°c window I believe. I noticed no drop in pressure on the first drive, and I have dials that monitor the pressure, it has a preset alarm that beeps if I drop in pressure 🙂

Kinda cool the GR comes with a back door intercooler piping set up. I love the brand HKS, but have to admit was HIGHLY disappointed with my very first HKS purchase, 22 years ago @ 17 thought I was SO dang cool cause I ordered an HKS Super Mega Honeycomb "cold air intake" for my 1986 FC RX7 13B n/a. I was blown away that for $260ish, I got a foam air filter & a MAF adapter, & being a special order was non-returnable, I was young & a little dumber so I assumed it would have come with the piping etc but joke was on me. Sure did sound amazing under WOT though... at least until the Apex Seals failed at 86xxx miles.

Coffee Nerd here: "espresso coffee" is a fine grind of coffee, as opposed to french press grind which is large, and drip coffee is in the middle. espresso is also usually dark roasted. as you roast coffee, it changes flavor, dark roast has kind of chocolate notes, medium roast is more of a toast note, and light roast tends to be fruity and nutty. where you get coffee from can change the flavor too. i prefer ethipoian for its fruits and nuts and bright flavor profile, but coffee from new guinea can have earthy tones etc. some people blend these coffees to get more types of flavors in the cup. if you mix the aforementioned Ethiopian with new guinea and maybe some indian monsoon, you get almost a peanut better and jelly caffeine treat. none of this is going to matter to you. chances are your just gonna buy some k-cups (which is what happens to coffee after an oppressive regime invades its homeland) then brew it, taste it and go "oh this is shit" and dump the rest out. the type of person with a pallet for the nuances of roast depths and origins is the type of person that also sips a glass of wine or scotch whiskey, with a plate of charcuterie, which, lets be honest, is someone different than you.

Every time you do a Yaris GR episode, I like it even more. It's a proper badass car and makes me even more upset we dont have them in the USA. Not that I could afford one but still it would be awesome to see one in person.

You need a black background behind your sick azzzzzz super garage neon sign so we can see it. Put a wood frame around it and it’ll be sicker and easier to see. Food for thought. Keep up the 4WD content on the best 4WD channel on KZbin.

Brake pad backing plates would cause more heat, not protect from heat, or dirt. The reason they are there on some cars and bikes from factory is to prevent galvanic corrosion when the pads backing is made from steel, especially if you have magnesium, or other metal pistons, this is why we used to use copper grease (or the silver stuff some mechanics use), and why an aftermarket pad like EBC uses copper backed pads. People actually remove them as a mod to improve brake performance on track, especially in the bike world.

Well I didn't expect to get a part-number flashback today! In a past life I was a Toyota partsman...seeing that oil filter and the part numbers automatically came to mind, 90915-YZZJ1 (aka 90915-10003)...hope you fitted a new 90080-43037 (sump plug washer) while you were at it? I can remember that nonsense after more than ten years, but I can't remember my shoe size...go figure.

LSPI (Low Speed Pre Ignition) is why I run Amsoil's boosted line of oils. Specifically formulated for GTDI (Gasoline Turbocharged Direct Injected) engines. I'd step up in weight for track days on a car that makes more cylinder pressure (horsepower) than stock. Like a 0w-30/40. LSPI is a deposit thing, not a friction thing.

The golf R is a $45,000 USD car. The Corolla will start around $30,000. The i30/ Veloster N starts at $35,000 USD and is a more appropriate comparison. Although I would still take a Corolla Circuit over the R

OMG, your ACTUALLY using modded parts for a mod !?! Moog , what gives, do you have a Fever ? I don't see any stickers, or go faster paint color swatches, or lawn trim anywhere. congrats on getting real again. P.s. Marty, good job on that temper and infinite patience, kudos to you sir MartinMighty.

Another great video and what Moog said at the end about just washing a car and hanging out with some mates was a great message and philosophy for life. You don't need to be modding some amazing hottie to get the vibe of what Mighty Car Mods is all about.

Just of note. The GR Corolla that the USA will be getting will make 300 hp. It will be the high output version of the 1.6 that is an option elsewhere in the World. Most likely due to the extra weight of the Corolla platform. Through other tweaks, I would not be surprised to see the GR Corolla to be the quicker of the 2. Pricing is what is going to hurt us though, base price is going to be around $40kUS and the Circuit limited edition will be north of $50k PLUS dealer Mark Ups which these cars will have. So no matter how good this GR Corolla will be, NO WAY will I pay $50k for a Corolla. In this case, the VW Golf R is the "Deal" car to get. With everything going electric in the next few years, all these cars will be off the table in the way we have known them for years. Progress? mmmmm ok.

I f**king hate KZbin "secrets" Channels are always "yeah we did something but you'll find out about that later" I guess it to make me watch future videos? But I'm going to watch the f**king videos anyway. I've been watching MCM for over 7 years I'm not going to stop now.

I'm driving a used 2007 Yaris S. From California to Texas, and still running after 15 years with 180K miles. I only had 3 oil changes, 1 time x 4 tire change and never had a car repair yet. It is a reliable everyday car. Unlike my Mercedes I spent 10X more just for maintenance. Don't say it's trash, because if I want a need for speed/race car or a showoff car, I do have others.

Gents who does your filming when you;’re both on camera - They do a immense job. What camera’s are you using for mains? I never notice any shitty or jumpy focus (my assumption is A7S or R5?). Love your work. Still best audio on KZbin haha.

Do you guys happen to know if the GR Corolla and Yaris front seats are the same? Im trying to find a driver seat lowering kit for a left hand drive GR Corolla but most seem to be for the Yaris unless RHD. Thanks.
