the areodynamic friction sound sounds like part fo the gma t50 engine lab video on their youtube channel, is that intentionally tuned sound? the inline i think can sound better, even feeling more torquier in the sense it its more simple sounding than v6 so it sounds more like grunting like how you may do sometimes when moving heavy weight. see youtbe video by savagese review of maserati grecale , it sounds somewhat like lc500 v8 but without enough base heaviness and sharp sound and rough edge to it and to it but with greater range in pitch than lc500. also is there a fake engine sound kit aftermarket

I remember reading that in Japan one of the famous Evo tuning shops wanted to find the limits of the GR Yaris engine so they tried boosting it way up. They made it to something like 400-450hp and it just wouldn't blow. So they dialed things back a bit then sent Nobuteru Taniguchi to drive the car around Tsukuba where it did a 58.5 second lap pretty much on the first try. See: qFHxA9zW5tk

Awesome ❤. I wonder what is the blinking orange light at the left of the rev counter, it seem to occur at some acceleration. Anyone can explain why this happens? Maybe some limited locking diff? But why in the straight line? Thanks 😊

That the slip indicator light. In Expert mode (which I assume they were using) the traction and stability controls still function, but at a lower level, so you will still get it intervening if there is wheelspin.

He should have kept the original manual and just thrown a short shifter kit on it , wonderful build though .

the Yaris is so nimble in the corners, compare it to a new BMW m3 and see how much smoother and easier the Yaris it is to handle around corners.

Very impressive. How much horsepower does it have? Was there a map or what was done exactly to get more power?

Personally Toyota engines have been well designed... Then getting this little model spec'd out was just satisfying to watch. Not often you see Misha in a Toyota, but when it's built right he's blown away. So glad you did the second lap 👍🏻

I think the grub screws on the cage need adjusting. It's possible to limit gear changes if the adjustment gets out of wack. Done the same thing on my Coolerworx before not being able to get reverse. No gearbox issues just the linkage needs a little adjustment. Cool car and lap. In gear acceleration is good but I think it's the weight, 4wd and auto blip that allows for pretty rapid laptimes. Did Misha speak of a power output? Might have missed that

He mentioned elsewhere that it "might" have a few (dozen) extra horses, but I'm assuming that's not something the owner wants TÜV to know
