What do you find most impressive about these mining dump trucks? Isn’t it amazing how the video showcases not just their size, but also their features and the engineering that goes into making them efficient and durable

It was a great video. Why did you stop talking at the 06:34 minute mark through the 08:36 minute mark? It left the viewer wondering if the sound cut out or if I accidentally muted my speakers. Did you not have a ton of supporting data to talk about the Belaz truck? I worked for 10 years in the Powder River Basin here in Gillette, Wyoming where we have a ton of surface coal mines. These machines are huge.

@erichigdon20912 жыл бұрын
A KOMATSU truck costs roughly 4,000,000 for the smallest mechanical truck, and around 6,000,000 for the diesel electric ultra class truck. The smaller truck hauling capacity is of 150 tons, the ultra class can exceed well over 250 tons. In fact a fully loaded 980, for example, weighing in at around 150,000 pounds without a load, will weigh in at 500,000 pounds loaded. Assuming mine operators don’t exceed the weight capacity of the trucks, which they often do.

That is a fucking HUMONGOUS dump truck. Maintenance on that beast must be astronomical.
@martinthrone70122 жыл бұрын
The high cost of repairs is covered by the manufacturer because obviously replacement parts have to be custom made & yes they're very expensive but the price is offset by the customer's profit margins..........customer's hire the trucks because it's more financially viable than buying them outright even the smallest version of these weigh more than the heaviest battle tank that any army uses 350 tonnes empty that's super heavyweight

@@seanjames5799 Yes the maintenance costs are high. Consider the following Transporting materials is not the whole process in a mining operation. There are other processes that require costly maintenance. However when you compare what the whole operation earns/profits, then maintenance costs are manageable and sustainable

Watching the video of the 797 and the stock footage they used was of a 793. I’ve been doing tires for 20 years on these and I can tell by the wheels it’s a 793. The 797 is quite a bit larger as well.
