Brother I seen a ton of Horrible Death but not in a War Zone but here on America as a Fireman for 23 years. I can’t sleep at night. It’s 01:17 am here in Michigan and it’s obviously Winter. I keep it in all the crap from my Childhood family Problems from it being a very Violent Family scenes over and over again each night because of Alcoholism. The Things that has happened, Seen, mitigated, Done in my life has seemed to climbed so high that I can’t seems to reach the Branches to Hang onto, the Only Reason I am still here is I have Three Grandchildren that I love dearly so I shove those emotions back and back as far as I can, but there will be a day/of Reconnecting for Me. I am a Baptized @ 9 years old in the Little River that snakes down the Mountains of East Tennessee starting out as a Tiny Spring to a very Fast moving River full of Boulders. I love The Lord God and His Son Jesus Who came Down in the Flesh to Redeem Us All For Our Sins as long as we ask him. Just said I am the Way The Truth and The Life . No one comes to the Father, If Not By Me. John 14:6 Philippians 4:13 I can do All Things Through Christ Who Strengthens Me. I love Jesus will ever ounce of my being. But Still We Have To Go Through the Trials and Tribulations of The Life as Each and Everyone of us are Not Promised Tomorrow but Through Jesus we Will Have Everlasting Life. I am a very Religious Man but I fall short of the Glory Of God Each and Everyday. I don’t what my future holds, I know right now I have everything as Money and Material things Go but what I don’t have is The Men I was always able to Speak to and Decompress after a Particular Scene that seemed to play out Daily. I have been retired from the Fire Since September 12, 2013. When I retired I was Totally and Completely Burned Out, I thought man I don’t ever want to go back ever but as the years seems to tick away I don’t Drink or Do any Kind of Drugs because I hate that stuff with a passion because of my Alcoholic Dad who would literally Fist Fight My Mother, Mom Would Hold Her Own most of The Time Coming out on Top so to speak. So those mind Altering Things I don’t touch other then may once a year a beer with dinner. Speaking of which I find myself being hypersensitive to my Surroundings when I am out and about especially with my Family, we’re talking Back against a Wall so I can See who coming and going, watching people every moves, Some Serious Situational Awareness. It’s like I am watching to protect Someone if something bad starts to happen, I don’t mean to it’s just my subconscious being the Protector. Wife always on the Inside if Walking down a Sidewalk. Just things like that and it has nothing to do with being a Fireman, I just usually just Chalk it up from being in an Fire District was Hot all the time meaning something going on all the time. People don’t think we’ll those guys don’t have to deal with Those type of issues of Behavior. Most people don’t have a clue just what Fire and EMS actually deal with Daily, we see They Death and Destruction but in a Civilian Arena. I will tell you it was so bad that when I left I stopped Hunting, Fishing very little. The reason I told everyone the reason why was because After Dealing with Some Gruesome Situations that I Felt like I never wanted to see Death even if it was Being hunted for food, I would say you have Money so you don’t need to hunt but the truth was I didn’t want kill anything but the Real Reason was When Your Deer Hunting it’s Really Quite Quiet and when things got That Way I would have to push everything back again because I wasn’t going to see it again because each and every instance Seared into my Memory bank. I don’t feel Suicidal because those Babies and My wife and Two Adults Would have to go through a Terrible tragedy like I went through so many times. I grew up at 8 Years old My Mother put me on a Greyhound Bus to Knoxville, Tennessee where my Mothers father all lived, but She did it even though something really bad could have happened to me but rather them me seeking more Drunkenness/ Fights She Thought in Her Motherly instincts that I would be better for Me to travel at that tender age of Eight Years. I left home at Sixteen (16) Years old luckily I met My Beautiful, Loving, Loyal, Caring Wife of Now 38years Old. She was 15 Years Old when She had our Son, She Actually turned 16 Years old a Month later, I was 17 and Tuned 18 a few months after Her. We have never left each other’s side in 38 years. She Stood beside me she at 36 Years Old Diagnosed with (AML) in 2004 the Same time my Son Was Graduating from High School, He had a Full Ride Scholarship to a State College Class D but He chose to stay at home to take care of one of Our Company’s that Did Properly Management as well Maintenance. So After a Four Month Hospital Stay, it went into Remission in Fall of 2004 I lost My Right Lung from a Fungal Infection that couldn’t Clear Up because the Chem had my down to far. The Cancer came back in full effect in August of 2006 another Three Months trying to get into Remission finally got into Remission again so they sent me home, Three Days later I was Heading to DMC/ Karmonise for a Ten (10) out of Ten Unrelated Bone Marriage Donor, Another (30) Thirty Days Stay there, then Three Months of my Wife Driving me To Detroit Twice a Week for Maintenance Chemotherapy. Then everything was going great when in 2010 My Son was getting married the day after the Wedding my Ankles where Swelling so it was concerning to me and the Doctors, one of the Med Techs Accidentally hit My Intestine with a Needle that he was using to get The Water out of the Cavity that had Formed to Hold Water, Two days later my Entire Body was Sepsis blood pressure dropped to (23/12) 23 over 12 so the only way they could get Medicine in my body was via my Shine Bones. Then Coma For a Month almost Two, I was sent to Henry For for a Liver Transplant we the Doctors there Determined that my Live was good but I had Hyper portal Hypertension. They Had to Trachea on my to Ventilate me, well I actually had a Death Experience, then when I came out on induce Coma I had to learn to walk, talk, move my hands to grab things, even Speak because I had Ripped the Trachea out of my Throat (3) Times. So three Times I was a broken Man Physically Financially but I Very Healthy with The Lord God!!!! I was Blessed with Friends that did a few Fund Raisers. All three Time I Returned to work at the Firehouse, I also was Building a great Construction Business that when I retired it freed Up a Lot of times that I was able to pound back into the Company which is Flurry big Tim way more then I ever thought. My Son Took it over Now it’s his and My Wife’s Company. All I do is Give advise if asked for but for the most part I just pittle Around, Buying Firearms and Changing then from brand New to my Own. So to say I have a whole going around in y head, the Crazy thing was there were Three others that my wife and I met and talked to because we all was fight the very same Cancer of the Blood ((aml) the Bone Marrow was a Success, I was lucky to see my Son Graduate High School, Seen Him and Wife have Their First Baby, then my Daughter Graduated High School then Graduated from The University of Michigan Nursing Program, she is a Specialized Procedure Building making a Ton of Money. Also the Birth of another Baby Boy and Another Baby Girl. I have been teaching my Grandson The Art Of Staying Alive how to get good Clean Water( the Life Blood) What to Eat or Not Eat, Make a Good Shelter that will keep Him Warm and Dry, Haworth To Kill an Animal For Food or Self Defense like we live there are Black Bear, Coyotes, Cougars, What Bugs and Grubs along with Edible Mushrooms. He is very Smart. I will teach both of the Girls too because there will be a Day Papaw won’t be around to help themselves. My Apologies for writing such a crazy thing, it’s 02-51-23 but I get to writing and I don’t want to stop, I am not a Good typer, I am The peck and pit style of Typing. My Writing Skills are terrible though. I hope someone out there will read this and this well if This Man can overcome so many Obstacles then Anyone can get through anything that Stands in His or Her way. Same with my sone he hunts Deer every year, Rabbit everything that is Edible he will as I taught him to Harvest just enough so they can live not more because at what point do you become an Outdoorsman to a Killer of Gods Creatures I taught him since he could hold his BB Gun to never Kill an Animal that you are not going to Eat. I hope a tiny picture crammed into this format can get by what’s got you down. A few last words to everyone. As long as you are mad at something or Someone then That Thing or Person owns your mind, so in order to have a good mind is clear it of all its clutter. If you can’t find the time to fix it the first time What make you think you can find time to come back again and again. May God Bless each and Every Warrior that is still fighting here at home. The Sun Will Come Up Tomorrow so Purge this bad things that are Haunting your Mind. I truly understand but I choose to get back into the fight, it doesn’t matter if I am down Jesus will Show you a Way you just learn Recognize . Live/ Love/ Prosper in The Lord. God Bless. I’m glad he was able to get help, and find some peace in life! As a combat arms (11b) veteran, I’ve been dealing with PTSD since 2006, and even before that if going into childhood. Seek help, it's out there but you have to want it FOR YOU first and foremost!! And "shop" around for therapist's/NP's/psychiatrist's and be proactive! If you're involved w/ meds management, trial and error CAREFULLY w/ your med(s) "cocktail" as it takes a bit to get it right!
