I wish they took a page out of guild wars 1's book and made the raid map have an explorable version. To be clear, I don't even mean one with bosses and events and stuff, but literally just some random mobs to fight and a way to wander around the beautiful environment they made so I can smell the flowers. I just want a way to look around it without the pressure of a group.

I hope you don't miss it thinking you could have gotten a good one if they didn't make the raid, because that's exactly what they did for SOTO and they admitted afterwards that it was a mistake.

Easy solution to get more players doing Raids in GW2: Make the rewards better and reward veteran players who train new Raiders, make Raids replay able. If half of the raiders have already completed a particular raid that week, then reduce the rewards, but if only one or two players have already completed the raid, increase their reward level for training the other players.

You want more players in raiding pay the ones not into raiding. I for one have no interest in raiding, but pay me 50g and I'll be a body for it. Raiding problem is a ppl problem, fix that problem and ppl would do it. Easiest way really is add some kind of matchmaking and have normal raid be a 10 man dungeon or t1 fractals. Or anet takes a stance and put in actual roles, not roles made up by players, then you might get more ppl in aswell. More rewards never really work, we have a history of adding more rewards and it still didn't work. Now for multiple raid runs in a week yes more loot, which has always been a problem for a long time.

I agree there should be a daily raid wing, hell I wouldn't mind a daily raid boss purely because it would help people learn individual bosses rather than commit possibly hours trying to get to the final boss in a wing.

Totally agree on some incentives to get out there and play, as someone who leads a group of usually ~6 people who fill with pugs every week. We're super casual and tend to just do one raid wing posted in training, and people are doing well and tend to tackle mechanics but not run nearly as much throughput as top raiders. Over the course of the past year or so, we've had everything from people who have no idea what raids entail getting their first kills to very experienced raiders coming in to help out (Sneb even randomly joined one of our runs once and that was awesome to see the higher end perspective). You do need to be clear setting expectations, and that's sometimes hard to do in the context of an LFG listing or squad message. Still, even if people take a while to pick up certain things, can't always perform to a high enough level, or just decide it's not for them, having the opportunity to give it a try with people who are (hopefully) trying to reduce the stress of jumping into something unfamiliar is a big deal. While GW2 does have a great community with this in some ways, in my experience a lot of that is on discord groups instead of in the game (which makes perfect sense logistically). Some kind of extra benefit for reclearing a raid with less experienced people can be a boon to the game overall even if it would also affect selling (that's going to exist in either case). I'm not sure how exactly to structure this to incentivize running outside an existing group vs. just speedrunning three clears of a wing or whatever, though.

Teapot, revenants don't channel spirits, this is something that has been addressed over and over again for God knows how long now, because people kept bringing it up to Anet as a confirmation that Jalis is dead. You channel a reflection, an echo, from the mists. In theory nothing is stopping us from channelling someone who is still alive, though we haven't had examples of that.

Story is awful and can be completed by a toddler. No tension whatsoever. Raids are recycled and will be abandoned again because no one plays them. WvW and PvP still a mess. Keep up the the bad work, ANet.

I’m gonna weigh in. This wasn’t a good release. They had an opportunity to make the first ever introductory raid and they passed. They made fan service for the people who already raid (such as yours truly). This was a chance for them to reinvigorate the raid community with fresh blood, and they were like “Nah. Even tho Grouch admitted the raid community is dead in an interview, it can stay dead.” That said, I may be having fun with these raids, but it’s not just about me. Which is a sentiment that many players in this game just don’t seem to understand.

Signet of Undeath could be reworked to now be the skill that pulls and revives allies. Surely that's easier to balance than trying to make the F4 work. Literally the only use for it now is for the passive life force gain and one emergency revive on a 75(!) second cooldown.

I enjoyed progging Greer day 1 and trying to learn his fight. It was fun. The convergence is a HUGE improvement over Soto’s very engaging. Spear looks cool, I will enjoy working towards it over the next few weeks. The story chapter was a good size for what else we got which was more instanced content. The story is well paced now and I’m looking forward to the next story patch. The open world complainers need to try the convergence bc it’s basically just open world this time but with 50 people instead of an unknown about of people.

Agree with you mostly but the story is not well paced. It feels like they learned nothing from the story drops of SOTO which everyone hated. If the mid-dlc story releases aren't going to move the story forward in any way then they should just not release them and use that dev time to make the next release better.

The convergence is way better than SOTO's and a really good thing to do at reset for gold and loot. If those loud open worlders actually tried at least the convergence, they wouldn't be that much salty. The raids are awesome, I hope they keep adding raid wings instead of strikes. Farming the first two maps is now very profitable for those legendary spear materials!

I don't need or want more gold. I want a variety of things that are fun to do. This expac hasn't been delivering that for me personally so I'm not a fan. The convergence was neat for the 30 or so minutes it took but overall this expac is just missing a lot of love.

didn't try the new raid, but the convergence is only good compared to the other convegenves... That's a pretty low standard. Did it 2x, on my second attemt i totally lost interrest already. Hope we get a Raid in the old Mursat-city without the boring titans. Never thought i wish for something like that...

Yes the new convergence is better and more fun the soto and part of that is just the atmosphere, not all grey. However as for variety there is nothing really and nothing really in this patch to keep me in jw. Once a week do all hearts, convergence 3 times, mursaat relics from torch/bee run daily then back to rest of the game. If they had a better grind for the spear then I'd say it's better but as it is now its very light on content.

@KamiKaXi Well people have different opinions about the patch, as a solo/duo roamer that cares more about fights then rewards I think the patch was mostly good. They increased the HP of lord's which made flipping objectives take longer, allowing defenders to respond and leading to more fights happening. They reduced the number of dolyaks spawning and the requirements for leveling up objectives which made dolyaks more valuable. This made defending and defeating caravans more meaningful leading to more small scale fights over them. They added a new sentry turret that pulses reveal in a 1200 radius, any player can place one of those at a time instantly and for no resource cost, this made it easier for players to find enemies leading again to more fights happening. Problem with those turrets is that they are implemented in a weird way and they disrupt some stealth builds which made a few very loud ppl very angry. That and the arrow carts are bugged and deal way too much DMG.

While I loved the challange of working out the bosses and finally getting 2 of them done (So far).. This is FAR too hard for casual players, most of the time it was working out the mechanics and just taking in more healers to watch the fight for longer to see what happened. If we want more raids in the future this needs to be nerfed so that more people can get involved.. At the very least have one boss that people can do. If everyone gives up, no one plays the content.. Then next expan no raids. These felt like CM's imo, which would be great if they were CM's lol

I dont think that the gamble Anet took is paying off - the average player will not interact with the raid & barely with the convergence. Even though I think both are engaging & well designed. I think one mistake was adding the first gen legendary spear to the vault btw. A lot of ppl dont need the spear now. Story was nice, but - once again - short.

What? The convergence is very good and profitable, besides being fun and much easier than SOTO's. It's a great activty to do at reset for 2.5g fixed + rift essences for legendaries + extra loot. The spear also made the hearts really profitable. What are you complaining about?

@@LucashhLima that’s not at all what I’m saying here. I enjoy the convergence - and the raid too. But I am saying that the normal player will not get in touch with either a lot. Because they dont need to if they are not grinding the spear. Thus, this patch only had 1h of story for them, which might not be enough to satisfy them. Making hearts profitable is nice, but can barely be counted as new content when you’ve done them at least 14 times each at that point. I did not say anything negative about the quality of the convergence.

@@LucashhLima just saying that some people will not bother because they either already have a legendary spear or they dont care about it (esp. players that only play story & open world - and that is the majority of the playerbase). So I feel like at least when it comes to story GW2 has to step it up in terms of volume to keep players engaged, esp. when they dont release a new map for that demographic of players. But then again who cares, I am personally having a blast with Convergence & Raid for now.

Agree about the spear, at very least the new spear could have had more of a grind and link some of the items needed to greer/decima world boss, making players at least do that. I barely play in jw cuz there is no real need or incentive to do so, where contrast to soto I spent 6-9 months living in those maps for the grind. Jw overall feels better then soto but lacks so much since there's no grind and very light on content. Hopefully the backpack will be a better experience.

As someone who primarily raids, I really like this one. I don't care that they reuse stuff from convergence or story because I am never going to play those. What I do care about is the challenge of the raid and if it's fun. It's definitely challenging but not to the point where it seems impossible. It may be a step up from basically any other raid on normal mode but I think that works considering it is the 8th wing and people should work up some experience on easier wings before they jump into this. It's also fun in terms of progging the fight, executing the mechanics, and challenging every player in the squad to do their part. The one spot I think it's lacking is rewards. Since the new spear is entirely open world based, the raid doesn't have anything unique to it. Previous raids had unique drops like weapons, armor pieces, backpacks. Overall really happy with it.

The focus on mechanics in the raid is great (though it was too buggy for us first night so we'll try again tonight with our other raid guild), but the major issue I have with the installment is that the devs took a chapter of the story, reworked it and called it a raid, and I'm 99.999999% certain that's what they did with the convergence as well since it's in the same map. Where's the creativity that went into the other raids that enhanced the story and lore instead of just rehashing it like this one did? If this is what they wanted to do for the raid then why not change up the story a bit to flow around it? Reworking the same map just screams lazy writing and I was so disappointed in this phase of the expansion. After how awesome the first installment was, a number of us seriously have doubts about the next. Either they're using this minimalistic filler to buy time on something epic (my hope) or they're going to repeat again and the rest of the expansion will be lackluster and disappointing (my fear). This feels like soto all over again story-wise and they didn't even give us enough to show otherwise - the enemy is coming through a rift or portal or gateway of some sort, that we'll have to go through to stop them at the source... Janthir showed so much promise in the beginning but has become disheartening.

If Anet was going to release a raid map, then they should have released a longer more meaningful story, meaningful being the key word. What we got was 1. look for notes that told us what we already knew about the titans. 2. Press F to listen to dialogue that adds nothing to the story 3. Listen to the astral ward fight as children 4. Kill 3 bosses 5. A setup for the next patch. This is not a story in any sense. With all the effort that went into the map and the music, the story is severely lacking, in content and the way it was done.

The story was ok, in some parts i hated how easy the bosses were in it but at same time for greer and decima were ok with it cuz you fight them like 4 times in previous story where they are much harder. Problem really was they made 3 achievements for not dieing to them but unless your a baby your not dieing to them. The final boss at first felt like ok good a proper story boss i could die and not get the achievement on, but after 30sec and you settle into the fight then your back to i cannot die to do her. Like to fail story youd have to try hard to die cuz of how easy they made it lol. For the new convergence i found it fun, bit confusing at first, but was fun. I do feel like its broken at the moment though cuz i dont see a way for it to fail unless all 50 ppl die. Im fine with the boss running away and we have to chase specially since they added that new skill that allows ppl who are behind to teleport to the boss. As for cm and new cm rewards for it and soto, still won't really get that many ppl to do them. I know i wont do them. For new raid, no idea won't step foot into raiding. You have to pay me 50g to raid lol.

For nonraiders, the update was trash. The story structure of "stand in s tiny instance for 20 minites listening to dialogue of women complaining then kill 1 mob" is so cooked. Low effort.

The enemys are all grey mobs, boring like the dialogs they came up with, saying everything 3times... Yes we got it the first time!!! There are no stakes, they never hit the right mood.. Damn it, did they hier the losers from Bioware??? At least the 1st map was nice. Btw, new legendary is not only boring and ugly but also extremly expensive. Collect a lot upfront and was still stunned... Made Kamo, the old Spear instead and 2 Partys of the pve-legendary armor.

Felt like a non patch. Relics are not used on any build in any gamemode, they all are designed with specific builds in mind and those classes are the usual suspects. Story is bad, raid is okok but not cool. I guess i dont like the titans models and environment so it doesn't hit for me. Diaolgues are cringe everywhere. No balance for pvp/wvw so big middle finger to everyone there. The throughput of the team at Anet is so shit im not sure how they even manage to function until now. Just carried by combat i guess.
