Glad you showed where it connects down by the gas pedal. My cable snapped on my 2000 so if I can atleast get this to defrost and heat floor, I can keep the winshield clean AND not freeze. My water control cable is also tight so for the winter, I need to just open it and make do with the blower on and off and controlling outside flow and cabin air recycling for the time being.

thanks again ! I found the cable had bent 90 degrees near the climate control. Once straightened I spray oiled everything top and down near the gas pedal, much better moves effortlessly.

behind the left and right knob are 2 screws... try those

Fyi, dont just pull on the plastic, there are 2 screw that go underneath the climate control knob, and the direction of airflow knob. For the people that didnt already take out those screws

Lifting the knob slightly creates less resistance
