If only Keith Levine and Jah Wobble would have been still be part of PIL in 1983. I was a huge fan of PIL, but despite John Lydon being great, Levine and Wobble had such a distinctive sound that’s missing here. This formation sounds like hired studio musicians play their part, but don’t get it. Rockpalast has contributed a lot to get cool bands to Germany, often outside the mainstream, but in the case of PIL, they were a few years too late. Still great as a document. German Public TV is dead, just trash today.

Took the PIL 1983 Pasadena CA convention center, Johnny got pissed off getting spit on almost walked off, energized him and made it a radical show. Saw him couple days later 2:30 a.m. at Vons supermarket in La Canada CA neighboring town, he turned the corner on four of us in the aisle and tripped out, we almost assaulted him he was cool though with his producer getting food believe it or not not booze
