However sadly I believe Trump has his strong base who will support him no matter what, even though they know perfectly well that he is not at all a virtuous leader, to put it mildly. And that is sad and dangerous at the same time that in America the wish to fight the other side as an enemy seems to be stronger than the willingness to compromise from a position of strength.

As a liberal, i don’t hate DeSantis, i had respect for his abilities to run the State and expertly cater to his ideological allies, and so far we have not plunged into chaos. Kudos where kudos are due. However, his flying of the migrants to Martha’s Vignard was cruel, and that’s why i changed my mind about him. He has proven to be quite the expert in using divisive issues and turning them in his favor. I understand there is a crowd of people who construe this as strength, but what i have seen these action do is sharpening the differences between left and right. If that is the direction we prefer, well then we are in the right track. Interestingly, the very folks complaining about division just want their voices to prevail and bully the other side out of the game. Hmm…
@RoboCheeseItz2 жыл бұрын
If I was to guess this wasn't so much as a show of strength, but making the blue Northern states that don't have to deal with the immigration problem on the same scale as the south, if anything was to open the eyes of people in the North that this is an issue instead of having them dismiss this out of hand.
@Conservative78872 жыл бұрын
it wasnt cruel. the left treats immigrants far far worse and no one bats an eye. He did because the left and a lot of liberals wanna preach and virtue signal about immigrants but yet when the immigrants showed up on their front door it exposed the left and a lot of liberals that they're just full of smoke and bs.

Why was it cruel to fly the immigrants to Martha's Vineyard? MV has been vocal about being a sanctuary city and having "tolerance." Where was their tolerance and sanctuary for the 50 ppl? A pop. of 15,000 / 50 ppl = 0.003% 40% of MV pop. are millionaires, and the avg home price is 1.3 mil. They have resources.
