Definitely ready to downgrade the datacenter and start saving some power costs. Moving from an LXC to the standalone controller was a no brainer, just had to make time to do it! But why why why? You have had one server running. Now you have spent money on new device and run both the server and a device on electricity. But why?

Thanks for the video. I had been searching how to upgrade the software/firmware controller version of my Proxmox LXC and thought, it should not be this hard, it was nice to see you perform this, get a visual. Also I am wondering if TP-Link does not give you that easy button, on purpose, for the software version, but on a purchase, their actual OC200 controller. Is that easier? I see the upgrade button, and really all it does is download the .deb file to my laptop, not the controller itself. doing a wget on the console itself, actually aint all that bad... Again thanks to this video!

I'm planning to get the TP-Link TL-SG3428X-M2 to upgrade my Proxmox and storage for backups and I think I'll get the controller along with it instead of building the LXC. Seems to be a better move in the long run seeing what you had to go through.

Is this with fans or fanless? My fans on 3210XHP switch are way too loud, but I keep it in a network closet, so no big deal. I wouldnt want it to be in my office, though.

Friends, don't let friends do complex Omada setups without a hardware controller.
