Anyone else fall in love with Mikael after watching this? ♥

His sense of humor definitely makes him lovable.

Most definitely! It was 2019 for me, once I heard him sing, talk, and realize what a musical master he is. He's magical!❤

I've seen OPETH live twice. He's always so funny. It's like he's not trying to be funny. He just is.

That would require it being the first acquaintance with Mikael :>

I mean, not gonna lie, I've been in love with him since the 90s, but yes, I love this video and will often rewatch it just to hear him talk about music.

I've enjoyed watching Mikael's interviews on youtube... some more than once, often to just hear him talk. It was cool to see this one again, but with you this time.

He's also very nice person. Met him at the Porcupine Tree concert in Stockholm last October. :)

His honesty and charisma are priceless. Him taking is so good that they added the small monologues he made during a Sydney show as individual videos. I think they are 6 and together aren't longer than 10 minutes so maybe you can give them a watch

I was sad because i was waiting for your When reaction since you made the poll, but seeing Mikael is always a good way for ditching the sadness, and your reaction was priceless. You flushed, laugh, and I think there was a tiny tear at the corner of one eye when he told the story about his grandfather. I think Mikael is not only the most talented being in metal and rock, he is also one of the most likeable, inteligent and funny persons in music

Oh, and yeah, please make a video about your record collection. That is a great way to know you even more

Wholesome reaction video. Mikeal is such a gem for the music scene. His humour is on a whole different level. I've seen opeth twice, loved it. I really wanna see your music collection. Very interrested in what kind of music you are in.

I'm excited to know When is coming. On the Your Arms My Hearse album, the previous song ends with the name of the next song, so the 1st song April Ethereal ends with, I don't know the When, When ends with Madigal, Madigal ends with Demon of the Fall and so on, kinda cool.

Totally with you about the pleasure in listening to him talking about his passion. We actually got a whole series of episoden on Swedish national radio just talking about old gems from his collection. All in Swedish though.... 😁

What a universal treasure we have in Mikael Akerfeldt(.) First & foremost he’s a huge music fan, himself, but he’s also a fine connoisseur and studied historian, with a seemingly endless wealth of knowledge about the music, itself! So, it’s no small wonder why the art he has created from all that he’s drawn from & gleaned is unique, progressive, open minded, and varied! He’s my favorite musician, composer, lyricist, vocalist, and, yes, guitarist, with his fingerprints & soulprint on all of it. I could even listen to him read menus with that rich baritone voice of his, in his native tongue, no less, without being able to understand a word of it……and I’m only into women, lol. (I’m looking at you, Lauren, 😉). But seriously, thank you for sharing your OPETH experiences (and vinyl collection?) with us, it’s been a blast of a ride, and I’m waiting for the next spin……🤟🏼

Dream Theater. Awesome band. I saw them a few years ago with Fear Factory, Nevermore, and MEGADETH headlining in San Diego in an outdoor arena. It was so loud we got complaints from Arizona. So glad to hear you like Jethro Tull. One of my favorite bands. Ian Anderson is another very funny person live. Love your show, Lady L. 🤘😎🤘

That DT album he had is my favorite. It was their first album and I would listen to Charlie any day over James. James reminds me too much of this chick I went to college with. Cheers!

OMG... If I knew you were going to do more of these interviews I would have spammed each of your videos to beg for the "Nardwuar vs. Opeth" interview. If I've figured you out even a bit you'd adore that interview. I think it's the *only single* interview Mikael is caught off guard and goes along to show his true self in a lighthearted manner.

If you ever get the chance to watch the Swedish documentary "Hårdrock På Export" A documentary of all the Swedish metal bands from the past 40+ years. A bunch of Mikael in there! IMO that is by far the best production made by the state owned Swedish TV.

That´s how Swedes looked back in the 70s. He´s like most Swedes, humble, polite and down to earth.

Did you catch that when you were talking about “When”, you said you knew the demon was coming but you didn’t know when. I giggled. Of course I am familiar with John Coltrane, my nephew is named after him. 😁
