Thank you for taking us/me onto your journey via these great videos. You really made my (sporty Xmas) days by afterwards watching potential next plans. All the best and happy and healthy 2025 to you and all.

Useful, thank you. Collapsaible mugs weren't available in my touring days. I carried a rigid mug and made good use of the space by stuffing it with something - eg spare gloves or socks.

I am very much alive 😉. Just been taking a little winter break now in the oss-season. Filming up here in during the dark winter is so difficult, but now that the days are getting longer I'm able to make some videos again. Watch out, I'll be back in the near future!

We're very similar in what we carry on treks. I always seem to pack too much. I have been getting better at cutting down on the clothing.

Hi Mikael thanks for another great video. Question: if you had tot start all over again from scratch, no panniers, no bags, no tent, not even a bicycle. Would you make the same choices? Would you have both panniers and backpacks so you can choose according to the kind of roads on the trip? Or one over the other? Would you still buy the Kona Sutra? The Naturehike tent? And so on...

Mike, you mentioned that your lantern was a little bulky. I have a solar lantern with a collapsable frosted shade. It folds flat. I hook it to the top of my rear pannier charging when touring. The power output ranges from 3 to 6 hours depending on the watt setting I have it on. I highly recommend it. At home it hangs folded in a south facing window, so it is always charged and ready for a power outage.

That's a pretty impressive amount of gear you can strap on for your tour. Thanks for sharing this with us.

In October I rode through France on a trip from London to Mallorca and I used the same chain lube - brilliant, but as it is a wax/water based emulsion it is better to put it on in the evening, that way the water evaporates and leaves just the wax behind. Worked a treat for me and I only had to re-apply every 3 - 4 days (when it rains however you have to apply daily). Great videos, loved to watch the series.

I concur here. I'm also using the same chain lube for my bikes. It's recommended to apply that lube in the evening, so it's ready to ride in the morning.

Thanks for video and ur experience. If you increase front side bags on fork till 10L each one u can avoid a mess in your bags. For example I use my 2 fork bags for storing all things for camp, rear bag for clothes, bag under tube for electronics and repair kit for bike and handlebar for meal and staff for cooking. Each thing has his own place and everything is sorting by its purpose.

Nice one Mike, was wondering whilst watching your first video from this trip why you went for the bike packing setup over the touring setup, so thanks for explaining. It's always handy to know what others are bringing on their trips for our own inspiration.

Hi Mike! I have a question about the camera, have you considered the Sony RX100, the same one Ryan uses? What made you choose E10? Do you use a standard 16-50 lens or did you buy something better? Thanks for your answer and greetings from Norway! Great movies and great adventures ♥🤘🇳🇴

One question Mike...your sleeping bag is the model without the hood ? also I recommend you a frame lock, you can use it everywhere and you can use the space for other things, also I didn't see any zip ties, maybe you should include this, thanks!

I got mine at a hardware store here in Sweden called Biltema. I don't know where you're located, but if you just do a seach for "cee schuko adapter" on Amazon you'll be able to find what you're looking for.

Hi Mike. Loved the series 👍 How much does it cost to ship your bike from Sweden to France?
@BikeTouringMike
@BikeTouringMike Жыл бұрын
Actually I didn't pay anything. I brought it along as my check-in luggage. As long as you stay under 23kg/50 lbs and let them know when you bookt the ticket, SAS I great that way. They let you bring your bike for free.

Hello Mike, I have a question. You mentioned that you have one extra t-shirt but you haven't used it. So you wear one t-shirt for the whole week? Do you wast it every day (or second day)? Or is it some special material or you just don't care :)? I am just curious about the practical staff on journey like this. Thank you for the answer!
