Lol yah I can see that happening or they get owned by there own piecing damage being thrown back at them. Or they Simmons a big beef cake like cyber dragons love yo do and get super owns by there attack stat they where super proud of making. I can also see a nabiru token remaining on the field being a game ender since the token will be pumped up with a lot of attack stats.

One year later in Master Duel, this is EXACTLY what's happening - I can't count how many times someone's run into them, or better, Ash'ed the search effect and thinking that negated _everything._

You could also tech in Twin Sword of Flashing Light. An old but pretty decent card that allows two attack at the cost of 500 atk. Since our monster have little to no attack anyway and we want as much self dmg as possible to reflect. This is great since it'll give two swings so the ceiling for an OTK is smaller. The opponent thinks they are safe from OTK range and then they get swung on twice for game.

Would that actually work, though? The cards read that the self-damage is a once per turn, so- I think we'd just kill ourselves with a second attack.

@@blackmark2899 relax, it works, the damage effect is not a once per turn. If you pay attention when reading the card you can see no once per turn in the damage effect/battle protection but only on the secondary effects you see a hard once per turn. Also the only cost for twin sword is the discard, so even if the monster does have 0 attack you can use the equip spell, the atk reduction its not a cost.

Some Equip Cards that may be side includes: Equip "Darkworld Shackles" to your opponents boss monsters that cant be gotten rid of with effects to beet them down , "Cursed Armaments" your don't have any attack and if your opponent is swarming the field it will impact them more, "Ribbon of Rebirth" to get back your monsters or grab those of your opponent's, & "Armed Changer" is much more situational but if you need to grab monsters out of the deck.

Personally, I love playing them as a small package in Libromancer ritual. Having the ritual in the hand and a discard gives you an interruption which is kind of cool

Actually, if you equip Nini with Purifying Dance, she can steal an opponent monster, then proceed to bounce another using the stolen monster as fodder for Purifying Dance's effect, effectively bouncing both to the opponent's hand while you lose nothing in return. Also, Axe of Fool is the perfect equipment for Ookami to use her effect on. It negates the effect of the equipped monster, basically turning Ookami's effect into a OPT quick negate. It gives the equipped monster 1000 ATK on top of that, meaning your Mikanko deal 1000 more dmg.

This archetype can work really well with the Noble Knight archetypes especially. Being able to quick-requip your Knights and also redirect attacks towards your stronger monsters, or Oohime. Isolde can also hyper-fill your GY with Equip Cards to make Mikanko Kagura burn even more. Also, using IFG sets you up with 9 Equip Spells in GY, allowing you to instantly burn your opponent to death the moment you summon Ohime properly.

Ok Im playtesting it now and. Honestly it seems to form rather intimidating boards despite my lack of general skill. First open with 2 blazing, 1 penciplume, 1 rota, 1 prep got me a sonic bird on board with a 3 pop summon Oohime in hand, 1 steal with nini, 1 spin with purify, and then another steal with the incoming Oohime(equip to opponent inviting dance). Another hand got me 3 steals between nini and 2 oohime's. One thing to note, Arabesque does NOT require you to equip to a mikanko, or even your monsters, so you can equip it to your opponent's monster, spin it back to hand, then summon Oohime from deck. Isolde is very good in the deck, and sonic bird turns the ritual spell from a good turn2 option to a very good turn1 set up. Since Im doing test hands, I havent gotten the chance to see how well it plays against interruption, but with so many ways of cheating out oohime, I think it can do decently. One thing to note though, this deck dies to dark ruler no more. If my opponent has a way to mass negate, I dont see how Im making it out. I think you want to go 2nd, because then arabesque becomes pure advantage, you can capitalize on the monsters on board, and if you open the ritual spell its not as bad.

I built this deck 3 years ago with just Amazoness swordswoman and you're missing the ABSOLUTE MVP that completely takes "almost" OTKs to over the top overkills Action magic - full turn. Your welcome.

The current issue with Mikanko is the fact the different "parts" of the archetypes are kind of disjointed. It's hard to combine Ritual summoning with Equip spells, and all your monsters that have different types and attributes to top it off, in a same cohesive deck. Here's the result of some of my experiments though: -Isolde is a must. By herself, she searches Gearfried to use as material for the ritual summon of Oohime, dumps equips like Inviting Rondo, Phoenix Blade or Durendal you want in the GY, special summons Hare from the deck, and the Phoenix Blade you dumped can be recovered as a discard for Oohime's searching or activated to trigger the searching of Hare. -Ritual Sanctuary is nice to search Oohime and manipulate the equips you want in the GY. You might even end up using the other effect to reborn Oohime and close the game. -Oohime can reequip Durendal from the GY to search Infernoble Renaud, which can special summon itself while Hare is on the field and recover a Gearfried you dumped or an equip spell you'd rather have in hand (like the reborn one). Renaud also unlocks Halqifibrax, to summon from the deck Vylon Stella... which (with Oohime) unlocks level 9 synchros with Equip synergies like Power Tool Braver or Charles, turns itself into one more equip spell with a Catastor effect, and is another Light Fairy you can reborn with Ritual Sanctuary! -Something Nova didn't mention: Arabesque can be equipped to an opponent's monster. So you can use it to special summon a Mikanko from the deck while bouncing your opponent's monster! -Fulfillment of the Contract and Execution of the Contract are two Equip spells that help you put Oohime into play in some way or another. I don't play them personally, but they could be useful if you really want to focus on the ritual side. I feel like Mikanko have amazing potential. I just wish we could get an Equip Spell that does a Ritual Summon or searches a Ritual monster, just so bridging the different sides of the deck would be easier. By the way, I barely mentionned Nini, but Arabesque is really the card that allows her to come into play. I think in most cases you want to start with Isolde and Hare, and find a path towards Nini and Oohime with these plays.

Think your missing the biggest downfall and that's bricking on a bunch of useless spells and no monsters or worse your opponent has skill drain up and you have no out to it. So yah this deck has too many issues to be great. Sure the cards individually seem cool and splashed in a deck or sided into a random deck that your opponent doesn't except this strat might be funny to do to catch them off guard..

QUESTION: I thought Ritual monsters were not allowed to be special summoned without having had been ritual summoned first? Which in theory would not be targetable by "the great mikanko of legend" or "mikanko promise" or "Arabesque of the Mikanko" am I wrong or am I missing something here?

That's true! In general, Ritual Monsters have to properly be ritual summoned first before they can be summoned from the hand. However, "The Great Mikanko Of Legend" states that it ignores summoning conditions, which bypasses that restriction. However, because "Promise" and "Arabesque" lack that that phrase, they can't be used to summon Oohime. Important note, though, if Oohime gets sent to the grave by whatever means after being summoned by "Great Mikanko", it can't be special summoned, even by effects that ignore summoning conditions, because it wasn't properly summoned to begin with. Ohime also doesn't target the monster it equips, so it can out stuff like dragun Arabasque can be equipped to opponent's monster which also helps with board clearing I prefer running the malicious+vyon engine for isolde, since malicious is not a garnet - if you draw it you can discard for ohime, then like normal summon the fire mikanko make isolde

Purifying dance of mikanko is also perfect to bounce 2 cards of the opponent... Step 1... Control opponent card with the inviting rondo (use the ritual mikanko/catfight trap).... Step 2.... Fun fact: you can use Arabesque's effect to equip it to an opponent's monster, then bounce that monster while summoning your own Mikanko. Combine that with Kaiju cards, and you can tribute an opponent's monster, maybe crash a Mikanko already on the field into it, then use Arabesque to bounce it back to your hand, ready to tribute another monster.
