I have to admit I tend to unintentionally interrupt people too, especially when I'm excited. I recognize that it can be quite annoying so I try my best to stop myself from doing it. My point is Mikan probably doesn't even realize shes doing it.

Exactly. And whether it's hyper-excitement that creates anyone's lack of impulse control or whatever, people do have to realize that after a while those who are constantly being interrupted simply shut down. It honours and validates people to give them their time and all the time they need to speak. It's part of social skill development to realize and work the tendency to interrupt and cut off others.

Ok, I have two teachers, who I just loved in my past school years. My first one is Mr. Pierce. He was my english teacher in 8th grade, and it'd commonly be said that like "If you haven't met him, consider yourself lucky.", and for the most part that was true. Like, FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL, no joke, walked into class, sat down, talked with people I knew, and then Mr. Pierce walked into class, and stood in the middle of class. Like, no one, NO ONE, talks without being spoken to, turns in anything late, nothing. It's SILENCE in his classroom. He walks in? Not. A. Sound. But anyway, first day of school, he walks into class and says this: "I have a baseball bat behind my desk, and I am not afraid to go back to jail". I AM NOT KIDDING, THOSE WERE HIS WORDS. But he was the teacher you disliked, was scared of, like "Oh hell no". But at the end of year, you look back, and all you can think is "Awwwwww", because he's just a really sweet teacher once you look past how intimidating and strict he was. He's just a big teddy bear. And then I had a 6th grade social studies and math teacher named Mrs. Riggleman. She was, when I say she was the coolest teacher ever, I mean she was the coolest teacher ever. One day, not kidding, walked into class, and there was this one boy, neither of us can even remember why we hated each other, we'd known each other since like, Preschool, Kindergarten? But I don't know why we hated each other. No one liked him, but we were each other's targets for like, making fun of each other. Anyway, one day, we walked into class, and a few minutes before the teacher started class, we were making quiet snips at each other, like from across the room. Everyone else was busy chatting, and we were just quietly insulting each other. But Mrs. Riggleman came into class, and before shushing us to begin the lesson, looked at me and this guy, and said "fight". So, EVERYONE heard that little comment, and everyone stood, and began clapping, chanting "Fight, Fight, Fight!!", and we both stood and began insulting each other, and there were like, bets placed over things like brownies, cookies, sugar, and things like pencils, pencil lead, quarters. It was insane. Eventually, he crawled under the tables we sat at, and cowered, and cheers went up, and like, our teacher was the fucking referee for this. She was also the best. Coolest teacher ever. Mr. Pierce and Mrs. Riggleman. Fav teachers. (Also had a fav principle. Was middle school, and teacher walked by my friends and I playing poker during lunch, and watched for a few minutes, and we were quiet, like, we didn't know if we were in trouble. Gambling is technically against the rules at the school. But he just sat there, then right before leaving, said "You're dealing the wrong way", and left. That was a beautiful line, can I just say"/

he is actually adorable!! i think he's probably too young for me, but he seems like a total sweetheart and i love him this is such a wholesome friendship, and I totally relate cuse i was an immigrant too when i was in 3rd grade. i came to america and it made me feel so "othered." struggled a lot with bullying in 6th and 7th grade (which in usa is age 10-13, but since my school year was messed up going into the crazy american school schedule that starts randomly in the middle of the year, so i was always the oldest. so i was probs 12-13.) which was like 2 years before emo was a thing, so i joined the goths instead, and always looked down on the emos when they came about, even tho i secretly really liked brand new. i went nuts with the goth fashion too. but around age 17 (4 years of goth) i got into the hippie circles cuse i was getting over my teenage angst lol why did i write so much, who would even read this? 😅 💕💕💕💕💕

also omg you guys are just so wholesome together, i forgot that what i actually wanted to say was that i totally relate, cuse we also had a varied mix of guys and girls in our group (4-5 girls 2-3 boys i think?), where most other groups segregated by gender. but we basically took turns dating each other lol but yeah, i really relate to the friendship and i think it's really important to show that guys and girls can be friends and even best friends and truly enjoy each other's company without it being necessary for you to ever date.
