Adapt to live peacefully along side humans? No, even animals that are around societies that have been there hundreds of years do not respect boundaries and pets peoples and crops. Humans are the ones that need to adapt to coexist we can’t expect the world around us to bend for us and our conveniences. She's just amazing ! She picks that cayote up as if is a small puppy :) now I am curious if having a pet coyote is any easier than a fox. lol

No, he only acts like that with her. He can be quite nasty to other volunteers. She has a special bond with Dakota. I don't think a fox would be an easy pet either, because they demand a lot of time, and they along with Dakota the coyote seem to pee everywhere all the time and on everything!

No, I'm honestly shocked that this sort of friendliness is even POSSIBLE from ANY coyote... I'm pretty sure the vet mentioned that he's genetically different. My guess is that he's some sort of farm variety? Usually, Coyotes are one of the most aggressive creatures around. Even when tamed, they often act more aggressive than wild wolves... They are incredibly territorial and food aggressive. If you're lucky, they might act like a partly tamed wolf around you... if you raised them from birth. They usually "turn against you" once they hit maturity. They almost never become truly friendly acting towards anybody, their definition of friendly is not attempting to rip you to shreds for being near their stuff. There's no way that he's genetically identical to a wild coyote, way, way, WAY too friendly. He is the definition of a good boy. He's like an angel.. With this out of the way, captive raised coydogs are usually MUCH friendlier than any pure coyote. The coyote shown here honestly acts more like a typical coydog. They are semi-wild as opposed to wild. Still not recommended as a typical pet though.

I still love them from a distance, though. Coyotes might be aggressive, but they still don't deserve the "witch hunt" like attitude they get from tons of people. They are important for the ecosystem, and rarely attack unprovoked in the wild. Stay far distance from them and you'll be fine. They aren't usually trying to eat people.
