They are both yes, all animals have instinct but there are just different levels of training and lifestyle requirements. These are trained professionals and volunteers learning from them, to continue providing these possibilities. We are in deep South Texas , the boonies, and a stray dog popped up. Looked border collie and "something else".... It was coyote. Changed my entire viewpoint on it all. I will still shoot a wild adult one, they are different than domesticated ones, and that only happens from domestication at an extremely young age. Love this woman and what she does. Spread the love and education and adequate training! LOVE IT 😍

@Jimmy Bulman I see the mental point, but that's not how it works. First of all, cats are not naturally a prey dogs would prefer. In fact, they'd most likely not bother to even try, unless REALLY hungry. Most encounters end up badly (some times fatal) for the dog - it'll lose en eye or get infected wounds, while being unable to harm the cat due to how agile it is. Just thought I'd mention this as you talk about ignorance...

@First Last Coyotes are not a species restricted under the act. Information can be found in chapter 935 of Ohio revised code codes.ohio.gov/orc/935. What I have for her is called a propagation permit specifically a non-commercial propagation permit. This allows me to own her in my private possession but I’m not allowed to breed or sell her. You can get a commercial propagation permit for I believe $50 that allows that but I didn’t get it because I have no intentions in that direction. dakota really messes with my emotions. my girlfriend’s dog was killed by a coyote last year, so it’s hard to see them as kind animals. but dakota seems so sweet and friendly and dog-like... it’s hard to hate him. honestly, don’t know how to feel EDIT: since clearly nobody reads my replies, i’ll say it here instead. i do not hate all coyotes, and i do not hate dakota. he is such a wonderful little pupper and his videos lift my spirits. but i feel grief and anger towards the tragedy, and that is what makes this an emotional conflict. i know not to blame the coyote for simply existing as a predator, and i know that death is just as important as life. it is just hard to find it in you to forgive a predator when the death that they cause is so close to you. and it is even harder to know that it could’ve been any coyote, including dakota, because it is just in their nature. it is hard, but i have to find the ability to love him anyways.

Your girlfriends dog probably wouldn't have been any better than that coyote when in survival mode. It's not like wild animals kill or defend themselves for fun or want to get into danger. Pets are just privileged to have us do the job with food and savety. Anyway, I'm sorry for your loss.
@PatriciaGonzalez-bp3hk4 жыл бұрын
That's a heartbreaking loss. I live in the southernmost part of a southwestern state. I live in a city that used to be a small town. The suburban sprawl has exploded over the decades. Which means humans and coyotes are living side by side. That's a tough reality for coyotes and small domesticated animals and the humans/guardians of domesticated animals. We, humans encroach on the living spaces of coyotes and coyotes do the same on "our" living spaces. Ranchers hate coyotes but they coyotes cannot be eradicated not even through federal government eradication programs. They simply reproduce more. Grey wolves are another story. It's said coyotes can be found in Central Park. Not for nothing they are known as "pranksters" among First Nation's people's.
@ehhhhlyssa4 жыл бұрын
yeah, one of the hardest things we have to come to terms with sometimes is that death serves such an important purpose in our world ecosystem. we need predators just as much as we need prey to survive. we have to accept their role in the world as “killers.” and we have to love them

Depends on region and the behaviour they've learned as like wity wolves learned behaviour is taught and passed down My local coyotes get along well with my dogs and the only time they've had conflict was when one came on the porch and even then the coyote was submissive to my dogs despite them being slightly smaller than it at the time Just like all animals they may behave one way in some places and be opposite of that stereotype elsewhere

I wonder if the animals only talk in high pitch voices because they hear her doin it
@sincerelybellatrix.28804 жыл бұрын
scburningbum666 I mean kinda. Let’s take dogs for example (cuz they are related to coyotes) Dogs respond to the sound of your voice rather than what you’re actually saying. (Unless you’re giving a command) so essentially when your voice is high pitched they get excited, but when it is deep, low or loud they tend to get a little scared because they think you are angry, hence why so many people have an “animal voice” because people figured out it makes them excited. So I think it could be why they make those noises. Same when you use a high pitched voice on a vocal dog they will most likely bark.
@allywilkeforsenate4 жыл бұрын

I just watched a video someone made about coyotes being the most hated animal in the country and why they shouldn't be hated. I personally never understood that. I mean, I can understand things like coyotes being a threat to someone's livestock and wanting to avoid wild packs of them or something, but for the most part, they sound like they just do their own thing. But anyway, I came back here to watch a coyote get the love they deserve. Thank you again, Mikayla, for loving Dakota, and I'm glad he loves you, too. 🤗💙🕊️

A warbly kind of whining, I think. Wild coyotes vary with similar kinds of weird whine-barking that sounds strangely alien unless you know what it is, and normal howling.

@whiteboardbecky5774 жыл бұрын
Foxes and coyotes are closely related. They are part of the Canidae family that includes coyotes, domestic dogs, wolves, and jackals. They are different species, though.
@JoshBryan4 жыл бұрын
Whiteboard Becky pedantically: Foxes are indeed in the same taxonomic family, canidae, but in the genus, Vulpes. Most of what we refer to as 'canids' (dogs, wolves, coyotes) are generally from the genus Canis with associated species and sub-species. Foxes, while of course related, belong to multiple genera (Vulpes vulpes being the one we typically picture) and species than the vernacular term 'canid', though it would still be correct to call them canids. Foxes have multiple differences in that they are not pack animals, cannot interbreed with canines, have partially retractable claws, and some reliably climb trees! Beautiful creatures, all.
