Mike Basich has always had a uniquely creative approach to snowboarding. He pioneered self portrait action photography before GoPros or selfies were even a thing: he built his own private resort, Area 2-4-1, in the backcountry of his native Tahoe, and he started a technical outerwear company under the same name.
For winter 2024, Mikey has worked with his longterm sponsors at Flow to create the new NX2-4-1 binding.
The fresh graphic collab is based on his all-time favorite binding, the NX2. It's an award-winning mid-stiff design aimed at powerful all mountain riders, with a bombproof aluminium chassis and a glass-filled nylon ModBack that offers freestyle tweakability. N-Gel heel cushioning and full length BankBeds absorb excess chatter and heavy landings, while the 2.5 degrees of canting works with your natural riding stance to improve energy transfer.
Of course, the NX2-4-1 also features Flow's legendary reclining hiback for rapid entry and exit - and with the addition of the new Slip-N-Grip plate, it's faster than ever. Just like Mikey, this is a binding that dares to think outside the box.
