@@sheblessed5691 well he screwed that hymn up ; too many diminished chords and overlays..embellishing hymns is like putting on makeup i:e it's ok to use some , but you can overdo it ' and it no longer looks or sound good... just saying ' a 32 year professional musician and music teacher..

I like Bereal as a musician, but the problem I have with him is he's a "showman" and an "entertainer" and he doesn't care about being a Christian. He cares about "attention", "being seen" and being "a star" and uses his talent to do it. He's not a humble dude.

@@ceddagr8 His energy and vibe. It explains why he hasn't blown up in the music world. He thinks he's the greatest thing ever. I know that spirit when I see it. I never get Christian ministry from him. I get performance and a show.

@@sebastianchristopher9461 Sounds like you're reaching from a place of envy. Mike isn't the guy you're describing and you clearly don't know him personally? Why hasn't he "blown up!?" Dude think Doobie Powell. They usually choose to stay independent. Furthermore, he's staying gospel where the pay usually doesn't meet the notoriety. You've made a bold assumption that isn't founded on anything other than feelings and an erroneous opinion. It's not a good look. Maybe in all of your spiritual dept, srarch your own soul. It's OK to not be a fan, but you're coming off salty here. 😏

@@ceddagr8 Why do people always do that dumb shit? A person has a realistic negative perspective about a person and that person is envious of them? You're an idiot. No one is envious of Mike Bereal. He's no one to be envious of. That's just my personal opinion of that nigga. I don't say Cory Henry, Quennel Gaskin, Rodney East, Glenn Gibson or Kevin Powell are arrogant showmen and want to be stars. Those guys are phenomenal players and human beings which is why they know each other and play together. They're in the same circle on the same level. Bereal is outside of that circle in his own world for a reason.

There is a difference between being gifted and being anointed. You can be both but there was no anointing on this song. Why would you try to jazz a hymn? Great talent though!
