I was born in 1985. My dad recorded a few NE music videos on a VHS and I would be mesmerized in my playpen. Ralph’s voice was the only thing to keep me quiet. They were my first big tour in 1997 and I’ve since seen them 13 times! I’m definitely a proud NE4lifer! ❤️❤️❤️

@marieOH5 which one, ‘In Too Deep’? Yeah, it was a pretty good, underrated crime film. Wasn’t about the 80s itself but an undercover cop flick, kind of like ‘The Departed.’
@kobiecamp1134
@kobiecamp1134 Жыл бұрын
So "In Too Deep" was like "Training Day" because that movie was also based on a true story. A true story about the Rampart scandal in Los Angeles. And speaking about the Rampart scandal, Russell Poole(L.A. detective assigned to Biggie's murder) relates that to the assassination of Notorious Big. In which Suge Knight use to hire police from the Rampart department, or section in order to do security.

People reveal their age, when they don't know the basics of a "Black American culture story". [ Nearly ] Every pre-1980 baby knows Bobby was kicked out the group. I saw NE on New Years Eve (12.31.1984....going into 1985 ) in the Beacon Theater, NYC (w/ my Mom and brothers). Bobby was acting SO inappropriate, onstage. The gyrating, grinding, pumping....we were like, "What the HEY-ULL!?"🤣 It was obvious then, he didn't wanna follow the "boy group' rules.

The modern day boy band as WE know it; the blueprint is The Jackson 5. The fact that Ralph was the lead singer was a smart decision on Maurice Starr's part.

@@spenser6353no question! He's the hip-hop version of David Ruffin! His voice attack on tape was striking like MJ. He was the perfect balance for Ralph & Ricky. I'm glad they are all together as men. Keep a group is damn near impossible if you're not friends and committed to the brand.

@@spenser6353yes but they KNEW that was going to happen so they already anticipated it and discussed it. The only hiccup was when Bobby got voted out.

True New edition is legendary, but they only sold around 20 mill records that's including Bobby brown. Now when Bobby went solo he sold over 50 mill records including new edition. It's seems to me Bobby came out on top.
