I don't know about underrated. But I know that Bill Ward SPECIFICALLY said he wanted Mike Bordin to fill in on drums for him when he had his heart attack that time when the Sabs where on tour. I know that he (Mike) need to go back to Ozzy and play for him. That Clufetos dude totally sucks!

Mike is so underrated for the impact he has had on alt metal! If you listened to any bands like Korn, blink183, SOAD, rage against the machine etc etc, everyone of those guys would site faith no more as an inspiration and all of there drummers have sited mike as there inspiration. Great great drummer !

He had an interview in Modern Drummer years ago where he talked about it. All I can remember I think was something about him learning about the "fundamental strokes" or something and that downward was one. I could have just made all this up.

A great and unique Drummer. The stuff he plays is maybe not complicated but it´s not easy at all to play it like him.

It's much more complicated that you think. No drummers can really get his sound. Also, his right foot is pretty incredible. Listen to the last part of "underwater love". It's a pretty incredible pattern. But the big thing about puffy is his TIME and MUSICALITY. He's a fucking METRONOME who always plays the right piece for the song. Really one of the best.
