I remember thinking in the moment that the call was lackluster as a celtics fan, but I really dont blame Mike Breen. There was so much confusion from the refs and only the players seemed to all know it was over. Even as a fan I was ecstatic at the play and shot up out of my chair, and usually where you would run around your house I just heard the whistles and stood there with my hands on my head for 30 seconds doing nothing. Love Mike and the integral part he has played in my enjoyment as a fan for all these years, hes given us so much that he is owed a pass whenever needed.

I can't even watch the celtics. Something about their playstyle just bores me everytime I try. I like Brown, Smart, Rob Williams, Brogdon, White, Pritchard, Horford, Grant Williams... You know what? I think It's Tatum. He has become like Luka or Harden level iso ball, without having that level of passing as a secondary weapon. And it's starting to feel that way with Brown, too. They're just way too ball dominant, there is no true point guard or real distributor, or even real "ball movers". I just can't with them. A healthy Khris Middleton and the Bucks dominate that ECF series. It already went to 7, and that Bucks team isn't even deep for a contender. And then a really flawed, not even on their game, lucky break with injuries in the West, limited Klay Thompson having Warriors team turned Tatum and Brown into volume shooters, and that was that. If they win a chip playing the way they do, I'll be amazed, cuz they didn't belong in the finals last year. Neither team really did, but one at least knew how to play team basketball.
@kennystar9075
@kennystar9075 Жыл бұрын
@@lakeshoresubtleties You clearly don’t watch the Celtics if you think Tatum is an iso like player compared to Luka and Harden. Tatum does iso plenty, but his playmaking skills have improved significantly since coming it i the league. He is responsible for the Celtics offense being as good as it without smart in the lineup. He not only scores, but creates for the entire team by drawing doubles. What an odd take.

@Doms6292 Жыл бұрын
@@kennystar9075 watching him from his rookie year to now he has grown so much. Kyrie coming stunted his growth a little but he still continued to improve by learning how to play off the ball. Right? Well he’s also not doing his “radio voice” too. But it’s wild to hear his “natural” speaking voice.

Here's another perspective: Maybe the ref in the middle of the floor shouldn't be blowing his whistle wildly and waving his arms around after the buzzer if he's not actually waving off the basket. And the guy is standing right in front of Mike Breen, no wonder he's confused.

Me coming to the comments to see if I missed something about the call. Nope he's just the kind of person that breaks everything down and critiques himself more than any hater could. Probably why he's so flicking good

as a knick fan, the knicks have looked bad for years, but their games always sound great because they have the best booth in the world. Love me some breen and clyde. great interview! i am actually surprised how his speaking voice is different from his game performance voice.
