@MrPorgie999 I saw a 91 560 sec at a show for 11k us$ a few years ago. I looked around a little at it, and nothing hinky jumped out at me at first glance. Being a vw guy I know better than to jump in without info, but I think id like one. I just need to learn about them first.

Australia here.I bought a Mercedes 380 SEC , a doctors car, for $8800 in 2018.I spent $4500 on it to get it perfect and now in 2023 its a $25,000 car.I think within 8-10 years prices will double. These are a very well built, very good looking car.Nothing like the plastic rubbish they are building these days.

I owned an '82 Sec Euro (grey market car) and now own, and am presently restoring with my son, a 1986 SEC AMG, (78k actual miles) which was actually built at the AMG plant in Germany, and has the full compliment of AMG options, most of which were only put on at their Home Facility, and NOT available as add-ons at any of their certified dealers. I can attest to the greatness of this car in not only looks, but in pure power and handling. Having owned American muscle cars, (first new car was a 442 W-30),Corvettes, an XKE Jaguar, etc, nothing comes close to the Mercedes. Sorry BMW guys, your car is a DISTANT 2ND! (If that close) I've also driven EVERYTHING on the planet, and haven't found anything that comes close. My car has the original AMG ground effects kit, the rarest rear deck spoiler, complete AMG suspension, AMG Tri-Y headers, the complete AMG Sebring Exhaust system, AMG Engine and Heads mods, and the full compliment of AMG interior options.(Gauges, steering wheel, floor mats, and upholstery accents), as well as the AMG Monoblock wheels. I found it after looking for one for nearly 10 years, and it will NEVER be for sale. Sorry guys!

These were without question. The greatest cars Mercedes ever made from the late 70s with the 280 CDS in the 280C e's. Going? Right up into the SEC models you couldn't find Better cars even today. Date today's cars just don't compare to what Mercedes was able to? Do. Back in the 70s 80s and into the late 90s then after that they changed significantly. They. Just? Aren't? The? Same that they used to be once they merged with Chrysler they sort of totally lost their edge. I've own dozens of these cars. The last car I bought that I still have to this day. Which I believe is the best of whatever they were able to do. Is my 1999 CL 600 which is a 2 door co-op with AV12 motor that in the S class? Those are the greatest cars. I think even today if you're lucky enough to find them and You can do a little bit of work yourself. You've got something that you will never equal in today's market.
