It doesn't have to be. In this case, the Neve 5060 also is a competent monitor controller and DAW controls. But yeah, it does have saturation and it does it very wel.

Any active summing mixer with LOADS of Headroom. He’s using it to drive the output for saturation. It makes mixing way easier.

I always laugh when producers doing tutarials online say plugging are just as good as analogue ... meanwhile the producers with millions of albums sold are always using hardware versions of plugins ..
