This guy is super cool I went to the same high school as him,His band Metro Hotel would tear it up all the time and he was great to watch. Later his band the Blue Diamonds let me play my first gig with them way back when, I never played before and they were very nice to let me play on stage and learn my craft, I never got to thank you for that Mike. TV Jones is a brand of pickup, but for the most part yes they are humbuckers.

@komimakojaketu I stand corrected! It could be a case of very high gain on the amp (you may notice the volume occasionally ducking after he plays) and his relative proximity to it. TV Jones and Seymour Duncan do manufacture filtertron style single coils though.

ooh wow I like it! dirty grimy gritty twangy sounds. It's sounds heavier than a tele but still has the note by note clarity of a tele. It's odd in an oddly good way. Almost sounds like a Gretsch but with a heavy dose of tele twangness... with gretsch twangness lol. I wonder how it would sound with a rosewood neck... I think they should consider doing one in sunburst ... when it's fender there's gotta be a sunburst option!

@discotechwreck Sorry to disappoint you, but the pickups in question are TV Jones Classics (please check their web site), modern, well made Filtertron replicas. I believe there's no such thing as a 'single coil' Filtertron pickup. Filtertrons were always humbuckers. Designed by Ray Butts and adopted by Gretsch in 1957. In a world of humbuckers, Filtertrons do sound closer to single coils than others. But still, they do not HUM!

For Custom Shop prices they should use metal Gotoh tuners instead of "pearloid" plastic. Otherwise it's a great design.

Novelty? It's a custom shop Telecaster with TV Jones pickups. What's novelty about that? I can't afford it but I might get a Telebration model. They play great and sound awesome.

Or 'fun'.....I mean wtf? Fun has been a word they've used to market La Cabronitas since day 1. Don't get me wrong, they're great guitars, or at least the 1 that I made myself is, but fenders brainwashing marketing techniques for their highly overpriced custom shop makes me feel a tad annoyed at times.

I love fenders. My first axes were (In order) a jag, a telecaster, a stratocaster, and then, other strat. Then I bought my first les paul. My point is... this guitar it´s a tele with a different pickguard (uglier) and different pickups. Any tele it´s way better nice looking. The prize is ridiculous. And its CABRONITA, not COBRANITA.

JB I made 1 myself and it doesn't hum at all. TV Jones classics are humbuckers and they shouldn't hum.....but my point is, the guitar in this 'ad' hums, you can see the guy getting embarrassed by it, why on earth doesn't the fender custom shop shield the guitars when they build them? Considering it's around £2500 or so it's another damn good reason not to give these robdogs ones hard earned money.

I tried the Stew Mac conductive paint on my 1995 Flying V that I customized last year -- I but I did not like the conductive paint results....so I opted for the copper tape (overlapping strips) method in the electronics cavity in conjunction with overlapping coper tape underneath the pick guard to complete the V electronics faraday cage.....the results are much more to my liking.......I did the same for my 2010 custom shop white blonde La Cabronita Especial ......with great results.....no hum in both scenarios.........btw....it's suggested to contact Fender with your Cab Rxxxxx serial number to get the "Shop Floor Traveller" document for your Cab.......because when I did so....my white blonde 2010 Fender Cabronita Especial turned out to be not what I expected - my Cab is not indicative of all Cabs....but is a slight variation therein.....where it is a 51 nocaster base model, ash body, sanko 6105 fretwork, bone nut, micarta black face and side dots, TV Jones Powertron neck and bridge pickups, and the grease bucket tone circuit .......pickups are Powertron not Classics..........after 10 years of playing this guitar....I still love this guitar.......the sound thru my Super Reverb reissue (and Aracom attenuator for more Super Reverb saturation at lower SPLs) and into my pedal board is heaven to me..... .money I paid for the Cab was $3600 Canadian.....my adage is........money has nothing to do with a guitar purchase.....if a guitar speaks to you and inspires you then buy it....because you will ultimately play it more/daily and progress faster.........a month ago....I changed the bridge to a Babicz FCH Fixed 6 Hardtail Bridge, Original Series full contact bridge ......yeah....I should have done this mod long ago.....and now find it so easy to set the string height and intonation on my Cab .....not to mention the added sustain. Because my Cab is lightly relic'd I was not afraid last year to level and redress the frets (with great results).

1. I think the hum is from the camera mic, you can still hear it when he touches the strings and the hum level drops as the volume increases. 2. It is overpriced, wow, that's the first time Fender did that. Seriously, it's clever marketing. As long as people pay 3k+ for a guitar they won't sell it for less.

hey man, if you´re selling this awful uitar in 5 or 6 k please learn to pronounce its name. Its cabronita, nos fuchin COBRANITA. And let´s be realistics. Nodody woyld give a dman for this if it didn´t said fender in the headstock. It´s the perfect axe por posers. Buy yourself a decent tele, strat, jaguar or jazzmaster... those are real guitars-
